I don’t think anyone has blamed Espada for everything. Not sure why you think that narrative exists, as no one here has ever said that here. Dana Brown and Crane himself have shared the blame with Joe this whole time. Espada has never been singled out as the reason for the decline. He is part of it though. Often a manager’s first order of business is to weather the storm. Joe hasn’t really done a great job with that.
Yeah, it was messy. There were a lot of disagreements between Click and Dusty, and ultimately they went with Dusty's way and won the WS. So Click was secondary, and Dusty only had 1 year left of his deal. I think the Astros didn't want to commit long-term to either one but would have liked to have to kept together in the short term to see if they worked it out. But understandable that Click wouldn't want a short-term deal and that the Astros wouldn't want a long-term one. People remember Click fondly now, but people here hated him when he was here for his prospect focus instead of making marquee trades for the major league team like Lunhow did.
I wonder how many times that has happened. Crane didn’t want him back but had to make a minimum offer to save face. He definitely knew that no GM would accept that **** offer, but he wasn’t gonna just fire his GM after winning the WS. Yes, Click hasn’t been a GM since but it makes sense that Crane may have played a part in that too.
He also has not done a good job in managing personnel he does have by doing ridiculous things repeatedly like using 3 PHs in a row then wonder why he is out of position players in extra innings like he did last year.
Yep. He was the wrong hire. Most here figured that out pretty quickly. People saying they knew that before he was hired aren’t being truthful, and/or they had an axe to grind over Dusty being told to hit the road.
Each game is like trying to offset the previous game, which was trying to offset the previous game. Astros are STARVING for b2b WINS. It's only happened TWICE since the 8-game losing streak -- and they've had a 4-game losing streak since then. Another L tonight will be another 4-game losing streak. If postgame had any truth, Astros must go 3-3 next six games.. or, Espada might "resign". Yeah.. 3-3, low standard.
I hope our new Japanese pitcher can stop crying long enough to pitch a few good innings tonight. Poor guy.
yordan has played every game this season. he needs a day off to get his mind off of baseball has not look right in the month of May
mariners pitching is just ELITE man. this is just unfair. astros pitching used to be elite...............
astros pitchers look uncomfortable after giving up 1 base mariners pitchers unfazed after giving up multiple hits stark difference
