It was like his plan going into the game was like “let’s see how I do mostly throwing this fastball I borrowed from a Single A middle reliever, then when that doesn’t work I’ll throw my curve like I’m facing the Yankees in the playoffs and just pray my arm doesn’t explode.”
Dezenzo is becoming the same type of player as Loperfido to me. Hyped up to be pretty good, but overall I think will be average at best.
He’s got some swing and miss but he’s looking like a lot better hitter than Loperfido. xwOBA .320 is on par with a solidly above average MLB hitter. And there’s upside there if he is ever able to play consistently and make some adjustments.
