If Maldy is calling a team meeting, he needs to look in the mirror because he is part of the problem.
it’s been explained ad nauseum by many posters here how Dusty’s numerous game and line up decisions have had negative long term effects. Just like you could never understand why O’Brian was an awful HC, I don’t expect you to ever understand Dusty’s failings as a manager
If Maldy is a true leader, he should be able to have self reflection on the limits of his abilities and performance. He should be able to willingly to do what is necessary to help ensure the team has a better chance of wins. That includes going to the FO and manager and telling them it's better to have Diaz catch more, and be willing to be more of a player's coach.
This is the most disappointing series of the season so far. Especially since the Brewers are on the verge of sweeping the Rangers (MIL is currently leading TEX 6-1 in the top of the 9th.) Seattle was just hungrier in this series. They wanted it more, plain and simple. That points to a leadership problem on the Astros roster. No killer instinct. Which is something I've been concerned about all season long.
Im not talking about Dusty. I talking specifically about Maldy being blamed for a loss...he didn't play in.
I don't give a dmn if Maldy leads this team/players meeting. At least they are doing it and the issues are brought up. I'm glad it's been done and someone is taking charge of it. In fact, I hope Dusty was part of this meeting because he also needs it.
This....Maldy is no real leader. Altuve has done this, Yordan also when he came of the DL knew Tucker was fire at that point. Maldy doesn't deserve credit for being a leader with his entitled ass.
Maldonado and Odorizzi (yes, the same guy everybody on this board hated when he was here) co-led the team meeting when we fell behind 1-2 in the 2021 ALCS against Boston. That one worked well, didn't it? https://www.mlb.com/news/astros-veterans-address-team-following-game-3-loss
For all practical purposes the division is in a three way tie and is up for grabs to any one of three teams. Who wants it most? At the moment, it looks like the Mariners. Disappointing series, but the season is FAR from over.
But they actually showed some fight in this one that he didn't play in. They rolled over without a whimper in the 2 he played in. 1) Tucker needs to play and Julks rides the pine. If the doctors say he's OK to play, why does Dusty think he needs another day off. 2) You can't bring Mushinski into a 1 run game to face some of the same hitters that roughed him up yesterday for 3 runs. 3) Dubon is not a CF !!!
Mold and mildew can make you sick too! Besides damaging your house, mold can cause severe health problems. Others—some estimate about 10 percent of the population—are severely allergic to mold. It’s primarily the dinky reproductive spores that people react to. Twenty of them sitting side by side could fit across the period at the end of this sentence. That means they’re hard to filter out. The spores also have an incredible “hang time”; they’re able to stay suspended in midair for hours on end. That means they’re easily inhaled. With even slight exposure to molds and spores, sensitive people may experience headaches, runny noses, skin rashes, nausea, sinus problems, memory loss and coughs. They may feel listless for long periods of time. In short, they feel as though they have a perpetual case of the flu. Newborns, the elderly, the sick, and those with compromised immune systems can be affected severely, even fatally. Step one in how to get rid of mildew and mold is to fix the problem that’s setting the stage for its growth. This is key. You can scrub, dispose of and replace moldy materials, but until you fix the problem, mold will keep returning. Did Moldy get Tucker and Grae sick?
Having Moldy lead the charge just ensures more of the same. This is all true. we'll see what comes of it. I'm not very optimistic
