Why is that a LMAO thing? It's exactly what should have happened, it's exactly what I said would happen if they got embarassed again today...Why does Maldy, unquestionably a leader in the clubhouse, saying things, make you laugh?
Astros should have at least 5 more wins this season - but worse players play more than better ones. Astros should have already been able to load manage pitchers who need it instead desperately fighting every game to gain a division lead they should already have. Tucker should have started today. Abreu had no business playing 99 of 100 games (especially while sucking) and shouldn't have been batting middle order the entire time. The players appear to be lacking focus too often - errors, terrible baserunning, crappy ABs, etc.
The season isn’t over - the Astros just did the exact opposite of what they needed to do in this series. The lack of focus and execution was obvious. This was in some ways the worst series of the year for the Astros. The Astros aren’t even overly confident - they are indifferent - from Pena to the starting rotation and to the manager. Maldonado at least recognizes that this was an embarrassing **** show series. Never lead in the series - no strategy or inspiring plays… just poor focus, little effort and terrible execution.
People can hate Maldonado - and his bat isn’t very good, but he is at worst the second strongest leader in the clubhouse and is extremely well respected by his teammates. I cannot confirm but I can almost guarantee you that Maldonado and Altuve spoke with the third likely being Bregman. Also all this talk that Dusty lost the team is silly. The players may not feel inspired by Baker but he is very well respected by the players and other coaches. W
The "leader" has been hurting the team this entire season. Astros best team arguably during this run, didn't have Moldy on it. The only thing Moldy should say is his benching.
So is your mom for having you. Taking responsibility for your performance is key for athletes. Blaming a player not even playing today for the team not hitting or pitching is idiotic.
Nah, this is still a way better situation than the Mets and he had family reasons not to approve a trade to other teams.
Leaders are not always the best players. Outside of maybe Altuve, Maldonado is the leader of this team. That is the case whether he hits 175 or 275. Also - Baker’s line ups are poor sometimes- but that has little to do with how he is viewed in the clubhouse.
If your manager can't inspire the players, then wtf is he doing and why is he even the manager? Respect is good, a lot of managers are respected because of their pedigree, but inspiration to play and win is what a good manager should have.
If Maldy is calling a team meeting, he needs to look in the mirror because he is part of the problem.
