Lol, i'm no fan of Johnnie Baker But if we had Framber JV Javier Garcia McCullers Brown as our rotation, most fans would certainly think the team was more motivated, cause that's the difference
Depends, what a GM considers to be significant may not be what a fan thinks is significant. I’m simply comparing what ammo we have at this deadline to others and it lacks as do the available partners around the league. That’s an issue an aggressive GM has no control over hence the post that it’s ironic. At this point, to me, significant would be a MOR starter and a bat with pop. Maybe a reliever.
Problem is, the only way to get Johnnie to not play him 80% of the time, unfortunately, would be to get rid of him. He would be a really nice asset if he were the backup, caught Framber and another game each week, something like that
Diaz at DH, .215 with a .640 OPS 1B, very small sample of 11 at bats, .364 with a 1.151 OPS C, .329 with a .935 OPS Interestingly enough he has exactly the same number of at bats as a DH and as a Catcher now, only included the tiny 1B sample because it might further show that he is a better hitter when he is involved in the game full time. And i'm all for Diaz catching more, but right now we are a bat short anyway. Yes, whoever we played at DH would obviously be better at the plate than Maldanado who is awful, but the huge difference would come when Alvarez is back to join Tucker and Chas as OF/DH options. I haven't been sold on Julks all year, but he has gotten better and better with more patience, and the difference between him and Maldanado is not comparable
I just found it funny that ATT is posting the contrast during a broadcast. That was my only point, Bourne even remarked that it’s asking an awful lot of a rookie to DH somewhat hinting that he needs to be playing if you want to get his bat potential this season. Dusty aint tryin to hear that, he’s old school. Again, I’m just a fan so I try to avoid I’m smarter then Dusty thing but the kettle is boiling on this topic…,,
Well if we win today and the Nats don't blow this huge lead, all is forgiven of what transpired the last 2 days.
The Astros pitching has been great. I think a lot of it has been luck. The problem was that the offense underperformed for the 1st 2 months. Part of it was stars underperforming. Part of it was good bats on the bench.
I would say Astros winning the next 2 and Rangers lose today. This guarantees we gain ground before the break and don’t lose any ground vs all other WC teams Losing a 4 gamer vs SEA would completely suck
Bryan woo is a good pitcher but not there yet. Gonna be a rough rookie season for him and Astros will see him for a long time.
