Yeah the offensive run production is not on the level of the Yankees or Dodgers. The pitching has been pretty good at keeping the Astros in games, but the offense hasn't been doing their part as consistently.
The scary thing about the Dodgers is Bellinger and Muncy have been abysmal at the plate this year, meaning, they have clear room for improvement. Could say the same about us though with our black hole positions.
Last night was bad, but today is the offense’s fault. Stanek wasn’t keeping up a sub-1 ERA for a full year. You can’t hope to win games when scoring 2-3 runs more times than not. Give me Bell, give me Contreras, get Brantley back too. Click’s made good moves to make weak points strengths, he needs to pull it off again.
When we get Barlow in a trade, we will have one of the best 1-2 punches at the back end of the bullpen. Stanek and Montero can fight it out for who normally gets the 7th inning. Not a bad problem to have.
Peña falls victim to the classic slider outside the zone for the 300th time this year. McCormick falling victim to the umpire.
