I think that applies only to getaway games with a game the next day. The Mariners are off tomorrow. This is either just a schedule maker gone mad or a side agreement between Astros, Mariners and the regional networks.

You are correct, and it started in '18. It's great for the players, I just don't remember any 5:40 starts.

From the 2016 CBA...

Jayson Stark at ESPN.com writes that the new MLB/MLBPA collective-bargaining agreement addresses this issue by requiring earlier starts on getaway days, beginning in 2018, for travel where flights are more than 2½ hours:

Sources told ESPN that the getaway-day changes will apply if a team has a game -- or even an off day at home -- the next day


Not sure how the new one applies.

 

No complaint from me. I get to watch at 6:40 instead of 8:10
