Why does biagini even have a MLB job. I do believe the Astros know what they’re doing, so obviously there is something in his skill set they think Is worth having. It certainly is not obvious to the naked eye or in the results.
I’m sure he probably is already, but if not, he should be. He doesn’t look like the same happy go lucky guy to me, of course I have no idea if that’s actually the case or not, but that’s how it appears from a distance. Whatever the case, he’s probably the key as to whether the season gets turned around or not. He’s the biggest wildcard. If he keeps playing like he has been lately, they won’t likely go very far. If he turns it on, they might look like an entirely different team. We need him to play like a recent MVP, not like someone who doesn’t even belong in MLB.
Michael Brantley is out and could be headed to IL, Dusty Baker said Michael Brantley (quad) woke up this morning sore, Dusty Baker said. Baker said it is "possibly" an injured list situation, but the team is still analyzing. Baker said the decision will be made "in a couple hours." Dusty Baker said Aledmys Diaz is a week to 10 days away from rejoining the team. "Hopefully," he said. Aledmys Diaz has played in 70 games for the Astros. He's missed 74 on the IL. Joe Biagini said Corpus Christi was extremely hot, which made the water park next to Whataburger Field enticing: "Guys are gazing longingly at the water slides out there. I haven’t seen anybody sneaking over there, which is probably good thing." "Didn’t hate it as much as I could have," he added. Biagini also said the guys in Corpus Christi started an “a cappella singing group” every morning. He didn’t want that to get out, though. Highlights from alternate training site in Corpus Christi today: -Aledmys Diaz went 0-for-4 -Brad Peacock retired five of the six hitters he faced, throwing 12 of 18 pitches for strikes -Ronnie Dawson and Jack Mayfield each belted a home run
With the injuries to Brantley and Yordan still being cautious at least we still have everyone's favorite , Tucker ! All joking aside , i thought his at-bats have been looking better* * havent really been watching games
You still got idiots like this guy putting out blatant false narratives about Altuve. It's slander at this point.
Diaz I think is a non-tender candidate after this year. Offers versatility, and has had some moments with us, but ultimately, he's viewed as injury-prone. In addition to the injuries here, he suffered a thumb fracture and torn hamstring in STL, and a sprained ankle in TOR. Really hope Brantley is fine and Alvarez's knees don't get any worse. This could get ugly very quickly.
We should have gotten rid of him just like Correa. Those injury-prone position players are the worst.
They both can hit and injuries usually aren't that predicitive of future injuries for position players...except back injuries like Correa had. I am against throwing away talent even if it is hurt sometimes. Better to have the talent sometimes than never. It is very hard to get value from a player while the player is injured.
Obviously he still could have possibly given up more runs, and it's no excuse to let it get out of hand the way he did....but man that one freaking foul ball against the A's that we weren't able to catch could have changed that start from Javier completely. Looked freaking great this first inning!
Javier is better than the stat sheet shows. Not getting ANY of the borderline calls. You'd think he'd get at least some.
