I don't understand the physics of being able to slide up a hill. I think the laws of gravity were defied today.

Starting to wonder if I'm alive and all this is actually happening. It's the more logical solution.

Maybe the reason is because he did not hustle on the ground ball

Maybe, but I seriously doubt it

Those kind of issues and discipline come up a lot on struggling teams, not teams rolling the way we are and playing with a ton of energy. I would think Hinch isn't looking to "set an example" right now

I have to disagree, if you dont hustle, you go to the bench, it does not matter if we are winning or losing. I think it was a good move to take him out for lack of hustle in that play, it tells the other 24 guys, you better hustle, no matter the score, no matter if we are winning or losing, you HAVE to hustle.

Now, i believe he should play tomorrow, but i also believe Springer learned his lesson.

Colby Rasmus, time to start giving him some love. He has been an up and down player through his career, but when he has been up he has been a great hitter. We signed him with the hope that we got a good Colby year, and early results look like we did.

Now that Gattis is starting to produce, Luhnow looks like King Midas this offseason.

The Berlin Wall was torn down which arguably was of greater significance, enjoyment and history than Tal's Hill. So I don't really have a problem with it.

You need 3.1 PA per team game. He's missed a few games early, if he starts every game his name should pop up in the next 2 or 3 games.

    Astros MLB ranks
    1st in HR
    1st in SB
    2nd in BB
    5th in Runs
    5th in OPS
    8th in LD%
16th in BABIP (no excessive good luck)

    Pitching
    4th in ERA
    1st in WHIP
    5th in K/BB
    7th in FIP

    I sense some staying power

Gattis will hit, no doubt about that.
Now, the Rasmus pick was excellent because it brought competition (Singleton and Jake), plus a defense that is making this team better. Yes, Gattis and Rasmus, but lets not forgett Lowrie, who carried this team with the bat at the beginning, when only 2 other players were really hitting.

Also, the bullpen has made a difference, again, great move by our GM.

Now, if Hernandez continues to give quality games, at that number 5 spot in the rotation, what an offseason for the GM, all moves worked. And Valbuena, yes, hitting under .220, but with a lot of power and very good defense at 3b.

My only disappointment of all the moves is Straily, i really thought he was going to be a very good number 5 starter for us.

Strailly was a buy-low guy. It may take him a while to work through his current hangups.

The #5 starter will work itself out. With Obie set to come back in a couple weeks it'll be fine. Fausto is definitely reaching my best case scenario for a back end starter; he's thrown 3 quality starts out of four. What more could you ask for?

Where has it been written anywhere that Springer was benched for not hustling? Springer was arguably frustrated as he has been stinging balls up the middle that have been turned into outs.
