    SPOILER ALERT

    Has anyone else considered this?

So it was supposed to be a flash forward for Jack. BUT, if it was indeed a flash forward (post rescue), then why did Jack tell the other surgeon to call his father and see which one of them was more sober? Jack's dad died in Australia, yet two times he mentions him in the present tense and tells the guy to call him.

Jack was off his rocker and doped up. He wasn't thinking clearly.

Well, the doctor didn't correct him or give an expression/reaction after having heard him say it - and I was looking for it because I was stupid enough to read the spoilers.

Yep, he could have sealed the door from the other side and lived but maybe, since he had accecpted the though that he was going to die, he never considered it.

But when the Pharmacist offers to call his father, he quickly makes an excuse and runs off crashing drunkedly though the sunglass rack. Jack's not right in the head.

*whispers* it's an alternate universe. if this is what it really is, then they are truly hardcore comic book geeks. the flash-forward is a representation of another timeline/universe..one of many scenarios that could occur if they got rescued. I bet what we watched is only one of many alternate universes (e.g. how Jack's father might be still alive) to come

Could you seal that door from the other side?

Wow Wow Wow. That was awesome! I loved seeing that side of Hurley. I have no freaking clue which direction they will go with the story next season.

I have one question. In the spoiler article from Ain't it Cool News on page 40 of this thread, it says the finale will give us a BIG clue about what happened to the supposed other Oceanic flight that Naomi talks about in which there are no survivors. What was the clue? Either it wasn't there, or I totally missed it.

i love this show but i started feeling pretty angry around the start of season 3 that they still havent ended it and answered all of the mysteries for once and all. Now with this ending and the fact that the show wont end for 2 more seasons/years makes me even more angry at how much more time i have to wait and invest to FINALLY know the truth behind it ALL and feel some closure from the show. On a side note i have some burning questions and thoughts in my mind about the finale:

    *********SPOILER ALERT (I Guess)*************************

    1) How did penny know the location or channel (whatever you need to make transmissions to certain places) of the looking glass to be able to send a message there? And what are the odds of her sitting at her camera at that exact moment?

2)How are they going to explain the knife in naomi's back when her friends come to rescue? (this leads to my next topic)

    3) Jack and company pretty much killed all of the others except for a few leading to believe whoever is coming is going to be the new enemies

    4) When Kate meets Jack at the airport she says something like "HE will realize Im gone". I have the feeling HE is going to be deusche bag Ben or maybe even Jacob

    Comment as you wish

There one one of those wheels on the other side door that seals it.

She didn't call them. She asked "how did you get this frequency/channel?" She received the signal from the Looking Glass. The better question is, how was the communications equipment set to that channel? The others probably weren't using it because they were blocking the signal anyway.

I'm going to guess that "HE" is Saywer who is equally tired or Jack's whiny-ass desire to go back to the island.

Was Walt really there, or was that just the power of the island telling Locke to get up? And how did Locke know Naomi was bad?

I'd say probably the island. We've seen Walt before when he wasn't really there. Shannon saw him right before she got shot by AnaL. I'm also guessing the Island as Walt told him about Naomi.

I agree with this. I believe the producers have said that some of the times in the past when we have 'seen people' come out of the forest, it has either been Smokey or the Island or some other manifestation.

Jack's father and Kate's horse come to mind as other things that the island has manifested.

Re: Jack's father being alive, he's either doped up and wrong about it or something about the space/time weirdness to do with the island (see: the Desmond ep) can change not just the future but the past and Jack's dad is alive again. If that's true, events on the island could also potentially bring back anyone on the show that's died.

What I want to know is who's in that coffin. Jack said it wasn't a friend or family member. To me that leaves Sawyer, Locke, Ben or another Other or Michael. Considering the viewing was in a predominantly black neighborhood, I'd say Michael should get special consideration. Theories on that?

On the pre-show special the producers said they wouldn't be getting rescued because that would mean the end of the show. It seems obvious to me now that they were just misleading us there. And it seems a good possibility that next season might start with Jack and whomever else trying to return to the island to right whatever wrongs their escape/rescue caused.

I don't think he knew Naomi was bad (I don't think we know one way or another yet). He just didn't want them leaving the island and she was (in their mind) trying to facilitate that.

Ben or Locke make the most sense, seeing as none of the Losties would consider them friends, and they likely have no friends back home that would visit them (certainly Ben, maybe Locke).

This is what I was thinking. A quick theory I just thought of and haven't fully explored yet.

It's Michael. When Jack met Kate and asked her why she didn't go to the funeral she act like "why would I go to that assholes funeral after what he did to us." Maybe, when Michael and Walt left the Island, they ran into this freighter. These freighter guys really are bad just like Ben said. They're worse than the Others. And for whatever reason, Michael helps them. Michael helps to bring terror, destruction, and death to the losties. Jack, Kate, Michael, and a few others escape but not through the help of the freighter people. But they're forced to leave most everyone else behind. Jack didn't go back to help save the rest of the losties and this is the reason for his guilt and depression. Anyway, they all blame Michael and don't care when he dies. That's why he's neither friend or family.

    Just a thought.
