So who was the man from Tallahassee that Henry asked for? Also didn't Henry say the submarine wasn't functioning,so by Locke blowing it up, he could maintain semblance of control?
Spoiler both will be bitten by spiders while searching their secret (the diamonds) and be buried alive because the other losties think they're dead. pretty scary thought. i think you're right, it was just a metaphor and there isn't a real box. certain people have certain abilities on the island, that's what ben possibly tried to say. he knows more about it than we do, though. but there's a question that came to my mind: where are michael and walt if the submarine was the only way to get on and off the island? they can't leave by boat, so was ben lying to them? or were they really "rescued" but didn't make it to the "outside world"?
i guess the man from tallahassee was locke's dad. the submarine was alright. locke just would not be able to use it all by himself. and then he only could have left the island because after the sky turned purple they lost the communication signal that lead the submarine back to the island. it was just a one way ticket just like ben told him.
OMG! I"m loving this show again! I worked 4 straight days. and missed the show due to that. And WOW. That episode was AWESOME!
In not very subtle ways, the preview tells you that we are going to find out how locke ended up in the wheelchair, so the whole episode I'm just waiting for whatever caused it to happen, kind of just takes some of the punch out of it <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/wGLYRBfzIJQ"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/wGLYRBfzIJQ" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>
Spoiler After reading this thread yesterday I did some digging around the various BBS's. I saw that scenario, which was apparently released by DarkUFO, but I also saw rampant speculation that it was an intentionally misleading leak, what they call a 'foiler' because just as reliable sources have said with absolute certainty that Paulo will get shot in the head. There are also a number of other aspects of the ‘spider’ story that people believe are not consistent or logical, like the supposed 'nausea device' implanted in Clare. Here is exactly what DarkUFO posted: I also just saw a third theory that mixes the two - Nikki enters a coma after being by spiders but survives, while Paulo gets shot in the forehead by one of the others while explaining what is going on. Anyway, personally I'm far from 100% sold on the 'both get bit by spiders and buried alive' theory. I think there were other ways to get off the island. It's not easy, obviously, or Desmond's sailboat wouldn't have gone in circles, but the only reliable way to get back to it was by following the underground sonar beacon. I'm fairly sure that Ben told Michael that he had to leave the island on a very specific heading, and when Michael said that he would send back help, Ben said they wouldn't be able to find their way back. There is apparently some speculation relating to the migratory birds in the previous episode, that the EM anomaly in the Swan was somehow involved in ‘cloaking’ the island from the outside world, and that the ‘sky turning purple’ might not only have disconnected communication with the outside world, it might have made the island accessible to the outside world as well (of course the others wouldn’t have figured this out yet, but it's pretty obvious that they aren't really sure what happened. Also, one of the two creators apparent has said that it is appropriate to assume that 'the others' didn't know about The Swan, or knew very little about it).
Just wanted to point out, that Tallahassee and north Florida appear several times in Sawyer's story, so it is possible that they are setting up Anthony Cooper to be the 'real' James Sawyer, the conman who bilked our Sayer's mother out of all of her money. Also, from lostpedia.com: "Anthony Cooper, Adam Seward" is anagram for "Sawyer, the con man, a poor dad"
Actually I read your second spoiler and was so annoyed at your little joke at everybody's expense that I had to formulate a response and never got back to the rest.
tonights episode was kind of lame.. side note, im kind of surprised that paulo is the same actor that played xerxes in 300
WTF you talking about? Today's episode was AWESOME. I love how they are beginning to tie everything together. Oh and also, Spoiler THEY GOT ****ING BURIED ALIVE
that was him: Rodrigo Santoro http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0763928/ and that episode sucked, easily the worst of season 3. maybe of all time. the only thing i liked about it was Spoiler that it killed that w**** woman and her boyfriend though she looked good. --> NSFW pic Spoiler
It was a nice filler episode. A lot of people died in 3 months island time. The body count is probably past 20.
i agree with both of you. it was lame in the sense that it had nothing to do with any significant storyline. was a pretty cool little stand alone episode though. but pointless.
I was waiting for them to wake up but I guess they are dead. i kept wondering why they started having that lady show up at random places. Today did seem like a waste.
