Spoiler Agreed... Spoiler That and, "Now I feel dumb" when they tried to see if the TV's went to other sites...That was ghey...Just out of curiousity, isn't there only one guy left from that group, the fat guy who was married to the black lady...I think they're trying to trick Jack with that video tape thing...A far stretch to think she'd be willing to help...Then on the previews for next week, they said it was the Fall Finale...That sux...I can't wait for 24...
i must have missed the follow up... i was doing extensive, ummm research on your first spoiler regarding kate.
Worst. Episode. Ever. Eko's death was not equal to his character, and he did do a complete character change. How can someone who imposes a 40 day quiet ban on themselves in penance for killing some others suddenly doesn't want to confess?!?! That seems in direct contradiction. And there is no explanation why he changed like this. I'm ok with him dying, but at least go out like the character you are.
He didn't change other than to accept that he wasn't the good man he was pretending to be - he was proud of the decisions he had made and not ashamed of them. I took his death as just part of the duality of the Island, an other was killed so a lostie must die. An eye for an eye.
Ecko, why did they have to kill Ecko, I really liked his character and it wasn't the best way to wrap up his story line either...
i think oomp is right. it was disappointing for me to see ecko's character....but he was extremely complex and conflicted...much more so than you usually see on a television show.
I think he did the 40 days thing because he was struggling with who he was. After the reflecting he felt justified in what he did. He felt that he had done those things for a good cause. In the end he came to the conclusion that he wasn't going to feel bad for killing thugs and gangs who were brutalizing the people. So he wasn't going to confess anything about it. It matched with him stealing to feed his hungry brother and the authoritarian nun trying to make him confess even though he didn't feel guilty. That time he was made to confess while what he did helped is brother and didn't seem wrong. Then he didn't stand up for what he thought was right. Finally as he was about to die he did stand up for it and refused to confess.
Well, now that ecko is dead, there's no one left from the tail section of the airplane is there? I guess they were all just temporary characters.
Gosh there's a lot of those with this show, according to the boards. Eko's death - knew it was coming once he saw his brother in the tent and that there would be flashbacks of him; it mirrored Shannon's axe episode perfectly. I was furious for the next 12 hrs that we lost the most compelling character next to Locke in exchange for those two crappy newbies, until I found out why he was killed: he asked to be written off because he lost both of his parents and wanted to return to London. Can't hate him or the creators for that, even if it is a massive loss for the show. Now all the smoke-b****ers can calm down. No, no, they'll just start b****ing about how it works and why that hasn't been explained. Definitely seems as if we got a daily double: last night probably explained Jack seeing his dad in S1 (tried to send him off a cliff), Hurley seeing Dave (tried the same thing), Shannon seeing Walt (led her to M-Rod's trigger happy ending), and Kate's horse. Smoke is somehow telepathic, and may also be the source of Locke and Charlie's dream visions. I think another big hint was dropped last night in regards to Jack. Ben laid it out that he didn't just want Jack to operate, he needed Jack to WANT to save him. Rolling back through Jack's work on the show: He saves his future wife in LA from an unsavable injury, he can't save the father of super-hot girl in LA, he lets the Marshall die after Sawyer botches the assisted suicide, he saves Charlie after it appears that Charlie has been dead for some time, he stops trying to save Boone once Boone asks him to stop, he fails to save Cole last week giving up the CPR after only a minute or two. Jack seems to save people, no matter how impossible, as long as he's emotionally invested and doesn't let go... Evan
Technically, there's all the suvivors that were kidnapped, including the flight attendant and the zombie kids. Nothing has confirmed their fate, and the Others have not been in the game of open massacres...
This is the first episode I haven't liked...I hope they aren't jumping shark... I'm not mad that Eko died, I'm mad his character changed so much at the end.
You are a moron. I don't know what you expect each episode to have in it. Today they find a nuclear bomb, next week they find Hitler's vacation spot?
Hmmmm. I heard that AAA (Eko), like Michelle Rodriguez, was a malcontent on the set (he supposedly demanded script rewrites and stuff all the time) and didn't get along with any of the cast members at all, including Terry O'Quinn (Locke), his primary foil on the show. Thus, the decision was made to write AAA off.
http://www.usatoday.com/life/television/news/2006-11-01-eko-lost_x.htm?csp=34 By William Keck, USA TODAY Last season, Lost's Mr. Eko (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje) looked the island's mystical monster straight in the eye and lived to tell about it. Last night on the ABC drama, Eko wasn't so lucky — the monster killed him. With Eko's death, just one tail-section passenger is still around: Sam Anderson's Bernard. Last season, Michelle Rodriguez's Ana-Lucia and Cynthia Watros' Libby were shot by Michael (Harold Perrineau). With the departures of Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Perrineau and Malcolm David Kelley (Walt), there are no series regulars who are black. Akinnuoye-Agbaje asked to be written off the series. After losing both parents last year, he wanted to return to his London home and work on a film he'll direct. Elizabeth Mitchell, who plays Juliet, got to know him off the set. "We got along really well," she says. "He's about to direct his first movie about his life, which is an incredible story. He'll be missed."
OMFG!.......AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! Spoiler Damnit, Sucks Echo is gone. He was one of my favorites, but hearing about his recent tragedy and wanting to direct his film.....it makes me feel better about his writting off. But damn..... Seriosly, that episode answered a few questions while also making more..... As for the smoke. Is that like hell, the devil or something? I mean, sort of like the Grim Reaper? It seems to be bad....black smoke is bad..... And Locke saw light....perhaps like Heaven? Following him for being the good man he is?
