I would love to be the 8th seed and face San Antonio!!!! It'll be like 95 all over again, only hopefully this time we wont have to put up with a MVP presentation before the game! GO ROCKETS!!!!!!!
I'm all about this team banging down the door to the playoffs... and if they can jump in as the 7th or 8th seed and play the Spurs, who knows, maybe the Rockets will catch them cold and pull off the miracle. I mean, this team does have The Dragon now.
Count me in, I could never root for my team to lose regardless, unless a lebron james or kevin durant caliber player was up for grabs and we were 1 loss away from winning that draft pick. With the moves, I honestly see the rockets being very capbable of winning against teams like Utah, Denver, Portland, and NO. The difference between last night's game and the game before against Portland is we didn't have Aaron brooks getting anihilated by PATTI FREAKIN MILLS. Dragic is a true point gaurd and knows his role, the scoring comes from Kmart and Scola, Buddinger and lowry provide a reliable second scoring option and hayes on defense. WIth our 2nd unit, we have a strong defensive team with lee, twill, dragon, patterson on the court. Just this alone makes us a viable opponent against those middle of the pack teams. We won't win most nights against the elite teams but we can compete and win on a more consistent basis against the middle of the pack type teams. When Aaron is a liability on defense and shane being a liability on offense, that cripples us a very big way
@johnhollinger Playoff Odds now project three-way dead heat for 8th in West between Portland, Phoenix and Houston. Yes, Houston. If it happens, PDX gets in about an hour ago
Keep it coming! If there is a will there is a way. Im starting to appreciate clutchfans alot more, let's go guys!!
lucky indeed. I was 14/15 when it happened and it was such a GREAT feeling. The first Portland series felt like a trial, but something we would win. The two Phoenix series were SO testing and making it through those made you feel like your team could do ANYTHING. Beating the Jazz two years in a row as well, then Hakeems slaughter of the Spurs, and then the two trophies.... man, both years will live in my mind for freakin' ever. I live in Grapevine now, and anytime a Mavs fan starts talking trash about how the Rockets suck and Dallas is the one with a chance... I just kind've grin and know that they have no idea what it feels like to really win... and won't for a long time.
I'm not going to say it was pure ecstasy but it was damn close. I have never felt the way I felt when elie hit that 3 and we stuffed phx. The whole run up to end is just exhilarating. By the time they got to Orlando they were a buzzsaw and a well oiled machine. One thing about this team now that has kept me interested, is they try hard, play hard. They are starting to play like the team that took LA to 7 and the team that won 22. I know melo was probably tongue in cheek about the 'play hard' thing and that's fine too... with hayes lowry scola lee and now patterson.. all jumping around scrapping, and martin to clean up, we are really coming together. I do wish we had more defense. I wonder now if rick would consider putting in thabeet for defense when the game slows down in the playoffs. as much as we are a score first team, I think much of our defensive woes this season have been when we didn't care. I feel like defense is something we can intensify and our help defense against portland was good. We are starting to pick it up defensively. Hayes is becoming the unsung hero of our team and a defensive presence to be reckoned with. I want us to go hard and try to beat every team by 30. I want us to hit the playoffs rolling and I am okay with playing SA in the first round. I would prefer to not have to play Dallas as that's the only team that seems to match up well with us. I think if we played Orlando in the finals we might have some real trouble too. I'm okay with playing Miami or Boston. The only teams I really would prefer to avoid on our run to the championship would be Dallas and Orlando. If we have to play Dallas or Orlando so be it. bring it. BELIEVE IT
Another good thing that helps us is Rudy Gay and Gallinari are hurt and Portland is still trying to gel with the trade. And Phx isn't as good as they seem. If Fyre wouldn't of made those two game winners we would be right there with them
If we are talking playoffs then the old timers might want to listen to this to get the party started: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-i7DSmKyOSk

Orlando we be the most difficult, the same for Dallas
