That would be both stupid and illogical. Republicans supporting Harris does not mean she is adopting Republican positions. Cheney is as conservative as they come, and Harris is working to win over conservatives. Despite their differences, Harris is not going to alienate Republicans who uphold the Constitution—something they both value above policies, politics, and parties. The Republicans endorsing Harris have made it crystal clear that their support is not about policy; it's about preventing an unfit, dangerous anti-Constitution psychopath from winning the presidency.
Agreed - we need to stop these false rumors. The one I heard was that Donald Trump was caught getting butt ****ed by Lindsey Graham and if they can’t pay off the eyewitnesses, that Trump may just give the nomination to JD Vance’s cat.
Correct - there are some Republicans, like my uncle that would be ashamed to vote for a felon. He will hold his nose and vote for Harris.
The strategy here is simple: Republican activists know that Trump is deeply unpopular and you’ll never convince anyone to like him. So the goal is to try to make Kamala unpopular and disliked by telling not showing that Kamala is bad. Just say it enough times that people in the middle actually believe that she is just as bad therefore you need to vote for voodoo economic theory that somehow Republican trickle down economics and corruption is better for your personal economic situation. It’s that simple. Will it work…. We’ll see if middle American is as dumb as Republican activists think they are.
Pretty much. I think there was an article about this a week ago. Trump refused to listen to his campaign’s advice not to personally attack Harris and is doubling down on those attacks. He also seems nuttier than usual lately. I'll post an article about that in Trump's thread.
Good read. I’d love to see Harris use her 'it’s old and stale' response. After Trump lies through his teeth (which will happen all night long), she could respond with, 'The same old, tired lies. Check any fact-checking site for the truth, but we have more important things to discuss—let’s focus on the future and the changes I’m planning to make for the betterment of Americans. Why Kamala Isn’t Preparing to Knock Out Trump at the Debate To her campaign, something else is more important. How Kamala Harris Is Preparing for Trump at the ABC Debate (nymag.com)
nope, one popular vote won in 38 years. almost across the board in polls progressive policies are voted favorably. some by a huge margin. These are facts you may not like them but certifiable facts.
I brought this up earlier but I believe thet the bar is actually lowered for Harris. Given how bad Biden did in the last debate Harris doesn’t have to give a knockout but just needs to appear competent and focused. Trump will be Trump and the last debate he actually didn’t do that well with his usual avalanche of falsehoods. It’s just that Biden appeared unable to respond to.
Some believe she’ll take a prosecutor approach and knock him out that way, but that’s a high bar and not how debates work (it’s not a courtroom or Senate hearing). As this article highlights, there’s something more crucial. Trump is well-known, whereas Harris is still relatively new. She needs to focus on defining herself and not letting Trump define her. I think she should use the strategy of dismissing Trump as old and stale to avoid getting bogged down in responding to his lies (which would otherwise dominate the debate and leave the audience wondering WTF they just watched). Instead, she should take the opportunity to clearly communicate who she is and what she stands for. If she does this effectively, the public will see the stark differences between the two.
I agree she shouldn’t spend a lot of time fact checking Trump’s lies. This might be a good time to actually use her laugh and laugh off some of his extreme lies with a some form Of the Reagan “there you go again”.
I do largely feel that way about Trump but I also do like a lot of what I see with the Harris Walz ticket. I think there is a lot of good in their policies regarding small business and am interested in the tax credits to small business and reducing regulation. I like some of the proposals for increasing housing. I am very interested in continuing to improve infrastructure in the US. I’ve generally thought Tim Walz has done a good job and that he was soundly reelected even after the George Floyd Protests and CoVId lockdown show that MN has approved of his job as governor. I’m not completely sold on all of their policy proposals and think that there are some big questions regarding paying for it all but compared to the stated policies of Agenda 47 this is a simple vote for me.
