I think Gillum and Abrams both come from areas of strength from Biden in regards to locale. Biden isn't having problems in the South, but really needs to shore up support out West.

Which probably means he's going to pick Kamala Harris.

hmmm. that's almost as bad a move as naming Beto his gun czar. Palinesque, even.

you know what Republican Party boss Mark Hanna said of McKinley's choice for VP in 1900: "There's only one life between that madman and the Presidency."

If voters overlook Biden's dementia and declining mental faculties, and elect him as the Democratic candidate, then Biden will pick Conor Lamb as his VP. I instruct you now to bookmark this post and give me proper credit when, not if, this occurs.

Why? He needs a vibrant, young counterbalance, and he needs someone with military experience to rebut the attacks that will come on his son Hunter for being kicked out of the Navy for failing a drug test (for cocaine). Lamb also helps with Pennsylvania and possibly rural white voters in the Midwest - a key constituency this time.

Yep, I'm not a fan and I think he's going to get the states out West anyway. I'd rather him go for someone like Tammy Baldwin or Klobuchar to shore up the Midwest...a place that will be a huge battleground and an area that Hillary really didn't go after in 2016. I could even see the case for Abrams to shore up support in the South, although her lack of experience is concerning and will be to a number of voters.

Important as Bloomberg will have the money to pump into Biden's campaign and to advertise against trump...

    Bloomberg is dropping out now.

According to Wasserman: It would take a miracle for Bernie Sanders to prevent Joe Biden from becoming the nominee after Super Tuesday results.

My take: Bernie should learn the lesson of 2016 and drop out now. Don't make this is a bloody fight.

A people should know when they are beaten.

If Bernie really want Trump out, he would drop out now and unite the party.

Yeah, at this point, barring a gamechanging thing outside of Biden/Bernie's control (illness, indictment, etc), there's no path forward for Bernie. And with access to Bloomberg's campaign infrastructure, Biden goes from having literally nothing to the most sophisticated operation out there.

But we also know Bernie's not dropping out right now. He'll probably do OK on March 10th, so earliest would be after suffering a total demolition on mini-Tuesday on Mar 17th.

Yeah he's a stubborn old ass so he'll likely stay in this race to the end, attack Biden relentlessly, tell his supporters that they are being screwed, that it's rigged and that nobody will help them at all and then drop out right before the convention and say "Let's me be clear...I support Joe Biden." Idiot.

I sure hope not, but if it turns out that is the case, it would show why voters rejected him.

25 years ago (when it was politically popular) Biden made comments about needing to cut it.

The Sanders team sent out something more recent from Biden where in an ominous voice he discussed cuts....... but if you listen to the paragraph before and after the comments it is obvious he was one being sarcastic, but two also talking about the income inequality portion of social security.

When you say shore up support out West, it’s not like Biden as at risk of losing CA, WA, OR, CO or HI.

There’s nobody I can think of in Arizona or Nevada that would give him a boost in those swing states.

I’m not sure I see the value in choosing your VP based upon a West-focused strategy. That said, of course, you’re right that Kamala will be a finalist. Her upside his very obvious. Definitely has the potential of somebody that’s going to be a political heavyweight and key figure in the party for a very long time. She has some baggage, but she also checks off a lot of boxes.

I think the better strategy is to choose somebody that’s going to give you an obvious boost in a swing state, the Rust Belt or with minority voters.

Biden is a classic politician and a survivor. If the wind blows towards the left, he will pivot left with the wind and the American people.

I mostly want Biden for appointing Supreme Court and lower court justices.

2024 is going to be an absolute blood bath.
