Thats not the point. Nobody is claiming he has full on dementia. Yes, he is better than Trump. But all candidates found in the general election both in 2016 and 2020 elections have no business running the country. I don't think you need to be an extraordinary individual to do a good job as president. The job of governing isn't intended to rest one guy being extraordinary. We share power across 3 branches of government. The president has a Cabinet of agency leaders. He has advisers up the wazoo. We have succession plans in place for when leaders die or when leaders are corrupt (the latter, it turns out, doesn't work well). Maybe we won't be setting records for human achievement with a placid moderate with oncoming dementia as president, but we'd actually function fine. What we apparently are vulnerable to are cognitively adequate narcissistic sociopaths. Any reasonable bar for competency probably would have been surpassed by all the major names of 2016 and 2020 -- except for Trump (and Tulsi Gabbard).
