Cushing is top 10 in tackles in the league. He's playing much better. You don't let him go until you find a suitable replacement. Not to mention they couldn't have predicted the 2nd injury he had. I'm glad you've taken Jonathan Joseph off your list. I don't know how you have Foster on there. See how the offense desperately needs him. And it's not like he was too old. The seahawks just paid Marshawn a bunch of money and they are about the same age with Marshawn taking more punishment than Arian.
I think people hate Smith because he doesn't have that genius look/feel and they get tired of blaming the coach. If the Texans make a good move, they account it to the coaches. If they make a bad move, they account it to the GM. He's not the best GM but he is not even close to being the worst.
Cushing is playing better but he is getting paid elite dollars for a full year Actually good point on Joseph. That was an extension for future years, he was already signed this year. I doubt he'll be worth it
Hopkins made two of these catches, but the other one was out of bounds. Brandon Marshall then tried a one handed catch of his own and completely muffed it. It was hilarious
1. Over Ruled or Talked him out of it? 2. You think McNair is that gullible and easily manipulated? We have little proof on this part of their relationship. We Guessing. 3. Agreed. We cannot fire him just to fire him. ?Definitely need an upgrade. I do wonder if an upgrade will be more friction with the coach but willing to see overall . . . . Rick Smith's time here is near done and no one still knows exactly what he actually does Rocket River

Both! Pretty sure Kubiak was almost universally hated towards the end here People were mad he started Schaub over Keenum. Never mind that Rick Smith extended a broken Schaub
But it was never just Kubiak. It was Kubiak and Smith. The Smith hate started long before the 2-14 season.
The Foster extension I will absolve him for because I don't think we overpaid at all and Foster has been so critical to our offensive success. Cushing, on the other hand, was an awful deal coming off of an ACL injury.

Yep... and much like bullpen guys in baseball, it actually is a valuable/important ability to be able to always be ready/prepared to perform at an average level with little to no notice. And some long-time backups eventually "get it" and have a few productive years as starters.
