omg. This is classic classic stuff right here. Sig worthy material. Did you see some of the throws Schaub made today? Do you understand how many weapons Favre has at his disposal this season? Peterson? Percy Harvin? Berrian? Cat, I'll cut you some slack, I'll let you out of the bet right now if you put into your signature how wrong you were. Otherwise, its still on.

PS. they are also talking about Schaub's ankle injury being worse than they originally let on to. The guy is more fragile than Tmac.

DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND THAT THE EXACT SAME THINGS WERE SAID ABOUT BOTH SCHAUB AND FAVRE AFTER TWO GAMES LAST SEASON?!?! Do you not understand how stupid it is to make a judgment call after one game? I don't want out of the bet. I'll double the bet to $200, if you want. I'll take all the free money I can get.

Who, the voices in your head?

Is Matt really restricted like that? If true, that is disturbing.

The Texans have the same problem right now they've had for awhile.

On defense, they have only one player who is among the 5 best at his position, Mario Williams.

DeMeco is a solid linebacker but he's not an elite playmaking linebacker.

At linebacker, 3/4 of the defensive line, and every position in the secondary, the Texans are not elite at a single position. `

This is your counterpart, after two games last year. That's going to be how you look in a few months.

PS: I was blown away by Reggie's 7 carries for 14 yards and a fumble. Hall. Of. Fame.

I know! Its pretty ridiculous how many knee-jerk reactions occur with our Houston sport teams. There are so many posts Ive read on here and other boards where people are about ready to either kill themselves or are about ready to drive up to Reliant Stadium and starting shooting every single one of the Texans players and staff members because of todays game.

Yes, we got absolutely dominated this game, but seriously (I know you don't want to hear this) it's just ONE GAME. The people writing the team off just after ONE game are the bandwagoners. This game absolutely pissed me off but I still have faith in the team. It would be one thing if we had this kind of showing against the Lions or the Rams but it was the Jets! Rookie QB or not, they are a legitimate threat in the AFC who came close to making the playoffs last year. Their defense alone is littered with playmakers especially in the front 7. Rex Ryan, a mastermind defensive coach, has turned the Jets into the Ravens..their exotic blitz schemes are going to give EVERY team fits.

There is too much hindsight going on here, people expected us to win this game on the fact that they have a starting rookie QB alone. Well just because he's a rookie QB doesn't mean he's going to come out shaky, terrible, and scared...go back to last season and look what Matt Ryan and Joe Flacco did for their teams for an ENTIRE SEASON and including their playoff runs. Last year's season opener was alot like today's, the Steelers dominated us in every phase of the game, people started overloading the message boards with "we suck" "fire (insert any name)" "how can I kill myself the fastest after watching today's game" type threads, but you know what...they ended up winning the Super Bowl, who's to say the Jets can't have similar playoff success?

Go ahead and start bashing me for being optimistic, but I'm not ready to write off a team I love after one game. Guys that are willing and actually want to ride out an entire season to the end, find it better to do so without all the bandwagoners.

No, I've pretty much regarded that as the worst game in franchise history. I might be biased since it's one of the few games I was able to afford to go to in person, but that game is my low point with the Texans.

Lol okay, i've watched and rooted for the Texans EVERY SINGLE game bra, don't call me a bandwagoner and i'll be rooting for them as long as they are here.

As for the game, really...the best excuse we can come up with is that the Jets are good? Well yeah, Good teams win games and bad teams lose em. Jets defense is littered with defensive talent, last I checked our Offense was too. Last I checked, Kubes was a offensive coach...yet the only points put on the board today was by the defense.

Yeah we lost last seasons opener onto our road to 8-8 again...is 8-8 our goal?

WE WERE DOMINATED by a 'GOOD' team. We didn't keep it close, we were destroyed, look at the stats...dominated and destroyed and the players are saying the same thing. I guess after being dominated like that and out-coached like that isn't a good sign.

Especially when it's what we do every year. I really don't want to hear how good the Jets are, when can I hear how good WE the Texans are? When do we start talking about how good the Texans are? Next year?

We get dominated by these teams, we'll be a good team when we actually play on their level.

knee jerk? Where have you been? No one is going to bash you for being optimistic. A lot of us are just being realistic with a tinge of sarcasm especially due to the boneheaded moves this organization has made.

I can guarantee you that no one wants to see the Texans lose. It's called frustration.

No one has communicated that they're not Texans fans anymore because they continue to lose.

What is this communist china? It's a free open forum, which means opinions either way will be voiced. Get over it. WE SUCKED TODAY. the only entertaining thing about today's game was joe texan's middle finger in Thomas Jones' face.

What if the Jets ultimately prove to be an average or below average team?

It's hard to say how much of this outcome was due to their good play/coaching vs our bad play/coaching. It was surely some of both but only time will tell how much of each.

Well first off, I dont ever remember writing your name in my post so I don't really know why you took that personal.

I'm pretty sure when 2 good teams get together one of those good teams is going to lose, it's just the nature of a 1 on 1 game...unless there is a tie of course..

I'm a big believer in the saying "Defense wins games", the Jets defense won that game.

    That's the NFL.

Jets could win 4 more games and we could win 13 more. You never know week to week, you just never know.

But we as fans have to take things week to week. The team played bad and i'm not going to sugar-coat that as "Well...the Jets are a good team guys, we'll get em next time!" no not taking this mentality.

Funny, the Rockets don't take this mentality. Were the Lakers the better team? Yeah...but they go out on the court and play well and at least made it a series.

Sure this team can go into Tenn next week and walk away with a big win, but until next Sunday they deserve all the heat they are going to get after that performance.

That was pretty hilarious, that and Kris Jenkins tossing Myers aside like a rag doll being shown on replay for several consecutive plays

did anyone else catch that post game interview with Dunta Robinson?

when asked how it felt to be back he said something like

"I glad to be back doing what I came to do, getting paid".

he also wrote "Pay me Rick" on his shoes.

All i'm saying is, just because someone isn't happy with how their team is playing, that doesn't make them a bandwagon fan. You were generalizing, basically saying people who bashed the team today were bandwagoners...i'm bashing the team today, they deserve it.

Usually when two good teams get together its a close game. One team doesn't get completely dominated like we did today, look at Tenn-Pitt...two good teams, no one got dominated.

If we win at Tenn next week i'll be happy and praise the team for coming back after getting owned so bad. Thing is though...this team ALWAYS stars the season off the same way, every friggin year. Why should I expect them to win the game, especially after that showing? I shouldn't. I'll watch the game, but I won't be expecting us to win it honestly.

Did you see Eric Winstons twitter?

    http://twitter.com/ericwinston

I'm with you on the optimisim man, I REALLY AM. It's just after so many years of this it's hard to be "Next week, we'll get em!" do you think Lion fans are saying that? Pretty sure it's gloomy up there also.

For me this team right now has to give me something to get excited about, i'm sure the entire city is like that. Because once we went down 10, it's like the entire crowd was like "uh-oh" they already know the feeling.

Well here's the thing about "It's just one game" in reference to our only regular season game we've played so far opposed to "It was only one game" is that there has been only one game played...people are predicting the outcome of our entire season (95% negative) on today's game alone. After next week's game we can start making actual theories on our team because we can see trends and have a broader spectrum to evaluate from

I am a Texans fan. I hope we win. Realistically the chances are pretty low if we show up clueless like today. I hope I'm wrong and you guys can tell me off all day.

At least we're not the Lions.
