LOL...I play guys in Madden who call plays better than Kubiak.

WHY are guys running long routes when the Jets are bringing extra bltizers nearly every time? Do we know what a screen play is? How about two TEs and both can catch in Casey and OD?

Seems like we were thoroughly out-coached today. This team isn't going anywhere far without a new coach. Just how it is. Unless Kubes gets smarter and understands that short passing beats a blitz most of the time. Can't really blame the Oline or Matt, when they are sending that many people you have to adjust your gameplan, you can't expect 5 people to block 7.

On the plus side, I should not have a problem getting a ticket to the Raiders game when I am in town in a few weeks. Ugh.

That would probably make for an easier transition but I think Cowher would bring much more to the defense. He is fair but is pretty nasty at the sametime. This team needs to learn how to smack people in the mouth

What a **** game by the Texans. Absolutely horrible, the worst I've seen them in a long time.

NOT a very good start to the Kyle Shanahan play calling era (I know he did a game last year....but now it's all on him.)

Schaub looked like D. Carr.....our offense looked like that of when we had Carr.

    Non stop short dump offs.

    PATHETIC....and EMBARRASSING.

And to top it off, that leveling of our Center by Jenkins was flat out nasty. lol.....Texans got ROCKED.

Sure glad I got so excited about this, I should have known. Texans never show up till about 5-6 games into the season.

My prediction is we'll regroup but lose a real close, competitive game to the Titans. A loss is a loss, but it will be a much better and respectable performance. Almost a moral victory. Then we will step up and win our next 6 games.

IIRC, it was Kyle calling the plays.

the jets *are* good. good-to-great offensive line, solid running game, average defense that added the architect of the ravens' great d and one of the ravens' best players. they're going to win 9-11 games this year.

    is that you gary/david carr/dom/bob/casserly?

I admire your positive outlook, but I think your statement just translates into 8-8.

hey....but we're right no the cusp right?

I totally agree with every point you make. I saw no two tight end sets. Everyone keeps harping on the o-line but 5 guys cant always block 8 or 9. It took Schaub being put on his back 4 times before I saw a screen

    I seriously doubt 9 to 11wins.

Maybe if they played us 6 times. Instead they play New England 2x, and the entire AFC South (supposedly the best division in football).

who knows though. This league is full of surprises.

And then the screens got blown up in the backfield. The Jets somehow had it all covered. If this is what they are, the NFC East is not going to be the cakewalk it was made to be for the Pats.

    I know right?

You'd think with the 15 tight-ends we've drafted in the past 7 years; the genius coaching staff would come up with something creative beyond, run, run, dump pass to Vonta/Slaton.

Yea, why not...He's from the Mike Holmgren pack and seems to get the respect of his players. I highly doubt a Gruden-coached team would be as unprepared as we were today.

Sorry, completely forgot. That's right, he's taking over the playcalling on offense now.

Well Shanny needs to step it up then. I don't know why we're not calling mroe screens and throw two TE sets out there to combat the heavy blitz. We can't expect to block 7 or 8 guys with 5 guys, so it's hard for me to blame the Oline and QB.

The worst part is the Defense probably played the best they are going to play and the offense put up 0.

yep, it's a big task to go out there and expect 5 guys to block a blitz. Jets were brining heavy pressure and only ONCE did we make them pay for that...and Slaton coughed it up.

It's sad, after week one and i'm already looking forward to the Rockets season. At least I know they won't be outcoached every night.

Really time to go after a Cower or Shannahan.

Kubiak isn't a bad coach, but he isn't the guy to take this team to the next level.
