Instead we throw boatloads of cash to beasts like Antonio Smith

What's lost in all of this is how bad Dunta sucked today.

combination of bad player signings, bad drafting, lack of focus, injuries, bad luck, horrible coaching.

4 out of those 6 things are generally controllable. Unfortunately with Bob it's not happening.

Im not sure how our offense prepared for this game...but it seemed like the last thing we were expecting today was for the Jets to blitz.

    Completely unprepared for this one.

Look it's not his fault Carr has been running for his life all day! He could be a great QB if he just had some time in the pocket!

    Wait a minute....

I know Jenkins is a beast at DT, but I was quite disturbed the way he threw our center three feet to one side with one arm.

lol true, maybe the Texans need to draft a few NBA players to replace those scrubs they have out there. Heard Lebron is a pretty good football player.

Worst possible matchup in week 1.....the Buddy Ryan 4-6 scheme on D, for a team coming out of preseason and not ready to play that type of defense.

And a lack of creativity by our offensive coaches.....just pathetic.

    0-2 next week, book it.

So Texans fans, what do does our team need to improve on?

O-line needs improvement and is non-existent. Why were they not blocking for Shaub?

D-line is completely lacking. How many sacks and tackles were this game?

QB may not be up to snuff, it's hard to tell when you have such a ****ty O-line.

    We were outcoached.

Prominent and good players like Andre Johnson and Mario Williams not given enough time to shine.

That's what I saw from this first game: potential.

Hopefully Kubiak is fired and we're given a decent coaching staff that can take this potential somewhere.

Have not read one post on this thread, but my take is this, it's mostly on the coaching. They should know that a Rex Ryan defense will blitz like crazy. I saw very little adjustments on combatting the blitz packages. This is embarrassing. Yes it's one game but they looked totally unprepaired. COACHING

this could only be said in hindsight. rookie QB on the road. a pretty average team last year coming in. and the texans supposed to be riding into their first year of real respectability. vegas had texans by about 5.

had they just been beat, i would have been disappointed.

but DD, they've been utterly dominated from start to finish.

Why would they expect the Jets not to blitz with a QB like Schaub that folds like an accordion with a blitz.

i want us to win just like any fan, but the entire front office including Kubiak + Rick Smiths need to go. Unfortunately knowing Big Brain McNair, he'll give him another year when there are PROVEN winners on the market.
