They were giving up 3rd and long conversions all game.... including the first half when they weren't "tired". They also have ZERO sacks today... again, included in the first half when they weren't "tired". The defense gets a back seat to the offensive failures every week there are both... mainly because we have an offensive oriented head coach. However, we have a better shot at winning games with a good defense/mediocre offense than vice versa.
Dissapointing start to the season. We look horrible out there. I really dont see anything to take positively from this game. Maybe some indv defensive players but man sad to see
So... Our O-line sucks. Our QB may suck. Our secondary sucks. Our tackling sucks. Our coaching sucks. Andre Johnson, DeMeco Ryans and Mario Williams are definitely good. Anything else?
I hate to point this out, but read my Signature. I was hoping that he'd have to eat his words, so I quoted him, but it looks like he might be on the money.
Rookie QB thing is a bit different these days. It's about being in the right position. Matt Ryan and Flacco can attest to this.. The Jets were a playoff team last season until Favre was secretly hurt and they got even better on paper. I knew the Jets were good but this week was not about them. It was about the Texans and what we were going to do.. I also thought that Kubiak had turned the corner but we were outcoached plain and simple.
Jones is a good back, he was bound to break a long one sooner or later esp. when the D has been on the field for so long. Schaub finally completing a couple of passes, his release looks so slow though. Thats a killer combo, immobile QB and a slow release.
One game does not a season make... Phill Simms just said that, and it sounded cool. But yes... I do remember how much worse things seemed after 4 games last year.
same ole rhetoric, no fire at all, this team needs a Bill Cower, Parcells type that holds everyone accountable.
