exactly right. that's what they did for Carr...he would get hot routes going. we'd all laugh that he was only able to complete short passes...but at least they were completing passes. that's how he'd end up with a killer passer rating despite being worthless.
god schaub looked scared on that throw. the whole team looks nervous as hell. how are you nervous into the 3rd of a first game?
I never said getting a QB prevented that... I just said that they haven't done as good of a job with the o-line as they should have from DAY one YEAR one. They're only now getting a solid foundation... but they're still young, and will have plenty of bad days ahead of them before they become a well-oiled cohesive unit (which is what you need the line to be). But here come all the "Its the QB's fault... that's why we're not good" posts... and its getting pretty retarted. There are clearly some organizational issues that are going beyond simple QB play.
THey finally decide to throw to Johnson again on that play? And then on 4th and 2 they get that? We're just being out coached.
True its only one game but this is his first game and when the Texans were blitz happy early in the game, he showed a lot of poise and was cool in the pocket. No turnovers, 50%+ completions a TD pass is outstanding for a rookie QB playing in his first game. Sanchez looks like the real deal to me, the NY papers will be singing the Jets D and Sanchez's praise tomorrow.
i thought you were suggesting that because the fans on Clutchfans wanted to see a QB other than Carr, that this franchise, through 2 coaching staffs and 2 GM's, has been unable to develop an effective offensive line. sorry.

What ? Sanchez has been under pressure all day, he has slipped it, made quick decisions and bought time for his offense to develop. Sanchez has been OUTSTANDING as a rookie QB today....simply great, especially on 3rd down. DD
Put rex in there I guarantee you we have more points than zero... wait probably not if he gets sacked and gets high school football quality coaching
There isn't a single part of this team that is playing well. The OL getting manhandled. The backs getting stopped behind the line. The WRs are non-existent, the DL is allowing too much time to pass. The DB are not tackling. Two sure INT's dropped. The special teams are getting horrible penatlties. And the team is getting outcoached. There better be straight F's in McLain's review...
