This is delusional at best and honestly just a dumb statement. Someone else could have stepped up, who knows?

You could make that case for just about any player. The Rockets would easily by about 7-8 games worse in the loss column but for (insert any player - Howard, Harden, Bev, Parsons, Jones etc in soem cases more than 7-8 games) performances in key games. That's the difference between a top 4 seed and a bottom 3 seed.

    See how easy that is?

Fact is Lin had a good game last night and everyone has given him props rightfully but I don't see why LOF make it out to be like without Lin, the Rockets are bad. Not true at all. Lin is a role player and role players will have and are expected to have big nights once in a while.

Also, Lin taking 10 or more shots is in relation to how well he plays that night. If he is playing well, McHale will keep him in and let him take shots. If he is playing putrid, he will be taken out. That is the life of a bench player in the NBA.

If Lin is playing 30 min or more and taking 10 shots or more, Lin is typically playing well. Hence the chances of Rockets winning go up.

If Lin takes 10 or more shots in a blow out, obviously Rockets will win. Too much statistical bias in that statement.

Are we seriously comparing Lin to Howard and expecting Lin's injured performance to measure up to Howard's injured performance?

Also, while Lin and Harden had the biggest impact last night, if Bev hadn't made key defensive plays (some in combination with Lin), and Parsons didn't sprinkle in a few layups, we would've lost anyway. It's a team game after all.

This is why I pray that every Rocket is fully healthy for the playoffs.

Bev was very very important in last night's win. I'm beginning to think that the small ball line up is pretty deadly - but will have to see how it plays out.
