Funny you say that because with 4 games played in my NBA2K12 Rockets team, he's averaging 25 pts, 6 reb, 6 ast per game. And this is playing alongside Dwight Howard and Josh Smith.
Preach on. I have been on record as saying I'd rather have had Dragic, BUT, completely understood why we wouldn't agree to the fourth year player option. While I don't Lin is any type of savior, ANY excitement brought to our franchise after the frustration of recent years is welcomed. Additionally, with who was left on the market and the condition of our current point guard position, this is excellent. After Dragic signed with Phoenix, I assumed Morey was rolling with Lowry. I was surprised when he was traded, but totally understand why (picking up a lottery pick is something that couldn't be turned down). So there's likely a lot of over-reaction on the board, but for many different reasons. Not simply due to Lin's ability on the floor, but for his ability to likely or hopefully increase attendance, possibly draw Howard and/or others and truly "just something POSITIVE" after the lackluster and letdown the offseason has been so far. Morey may not be perfect, but in one offseason he's put the franchise either in a position to nab one of the best players in the game, make offers four a couple of highly sought after restricted free agents, and/or move forward with promising young players and draft picks. I realize it's summer league, but FOUR have looked really good so far. I loved Scola as much as anyone. His fight, mentality and team first attitude was awesome. But, I know I wasn't the only one who got tired of seeing his man blow by him for an easy two. It was time (with all our young PF's). Chase and Sam had nice stretches and spots, but are likely going to always be pretty inconsistent. After so many (supposed) "near misses" with free agents RFA's and trades in the last couple of years, it's JUST REFRESHING! Feels good to have some HOPE, no matter which way things shake out from here.
Dude can you cut this ish out? I want to read Rocket fan's take not look at images like I'm on google images.
It amazes me that ESPN/NBATV still hasn't caught on to the fact that we don't pay 15mil in the 3rd year...
Ken Berger @KBergCBS For those who think you know this stuff better than me, the Rockets do have to pay Jeremy Lin $14.9M in '14-'15. This is a fact. Waiting for Bima to school Berg.
Lin puns belong to H-town now, Baby!!! Thanks to Do-Lin!!! For not rol-Lin the dice on the Lin-sanely ta-Lin-ted Taiwanese Tim Tebow of the NBA! Let the puns begin... Or should I say, "be-LIN!"
I think we pay 15 mil, but only 8 counts against the cap. But I'd wait for Bima to clear it up.
Once again, Jeremy Lin WILL actually get paid $15 million in the third year. He will only account for $8.3 million on the salary cap.
That's a weird loophole. Where the payments and cap hit on a FA's contract is different. Or maybe it's not a loophole or anything new at all because I have no idea.
