NY Knicks fans, those that read NY Times are literally mad and pissed. I can't believe how much Lin meant to them.
Recap of the "live report" on Sportscenter. Recap: Craig Ackerman- What are you hearing? -Majority of Rockets brass still in the dark. Reports are out there that Knicks won't match. Rox brass saying "believe it when I see it." What do you mean they are in the dark? -My understanding is they haven't been officially notified. Until that becomes reality the Knicks can change their mind. Reports have left door slightly open. Cautiously optimistic. $25 million is the contract. What are Rox hoping to get? -Well they need a starting caliber PG. Lost Lowry and Dragic needed to replace them. Small sample size granted, but during sample he proved he could play at high level. Hopes going forward are that they'll get that player. Perspective as to why he wanted to be Rocket and not Knick? -Not sure. Knicks were hamstrung in what they could offer due to the RFA status. Best interest to shop himself on market. Rockets amended offer to try to make Knicks to make a tough decision. Rockets have worked with marketing giant in Yao. How does that prepare them for Lin? -ROX were Asia's team when Yao was around. Game against YI was viewed by 200 million people. Many of Yao's teammates got big marketing deals with China. Rox has lost some popularity with Yao's retirement, but Lin can help recapture some of that market. This will draw big reaction. Is there genuine excitement in Houston? -Oh no doubt about it. Nobody saw this coming last year. ROX wanted to keep Lin last year and liked him to be their 3rd PG. Funky short training camp messed things up. Didn't get to see him enough and wanted to keep trade chip Johnny Flynn's contract. Knicks were within 24 hours of cutting him as well.
And now talking about Howard and Lakers, it's as though Houston doesn't even exist, they assume that if we also get Asik that that means we are going in a different direction, which just leaves LA as the only destination for Howard.. Geeez these 'journalists' are ignernt!
Yeah it was obvious the guy didn't know much about the ROX. He made it sound like the Lin and Asik deals are new developments and now that we are making them we might just move on. LOL
hahah ive been arguing back and forth with Sigmund for that past few days, its been exhausting. i tend to get the last word though
If Dwight does get traded to the Rockets, do you think ESPN will think "****. Maybe we should of mentioned this is as a possibility; now we look stupid."
ok he's a rocket now, it would be nice if the haters could atleast welcome him to the city. you don't have to love the guy, but respect him and respect what he might be able to do for the Houston Rockets. how would you feel if you went to work at a new company and everyone there hated you and wanted you fired? not so good huh? he's a rocket. treat him like one. if you want to b**** and moan about him, do after he plays a few games in the Red & White.
If the Rockets get both Lin and D. Howard, I can picture ESPN announcing, "We're sorry, but ESPN has lost both Lin and Howard to Houston."
