The Clippers lost because Kawhi wasn't healthy again. At this point, I don't think anyone really thought Harden was going to lead this team to a deep playoff run. He's past his prime and he had playoff struggles even when he was at his MVP form. It will be interesting to see how these old mediocre teams operate with the 2nd apron looming. I get the feeling the Clippers will re-sign Harden for a big contract. Not the max but he's not at league minimum territory yet. Even if it's just to hold him as an asset to trade at the deadline. They just don't have many mechanisms to sustain their talent base let alone get better.

None of the 4 SoCal boys wants to leave. The Clippers brand new $2 billion arena opens next season. Steve Ballmer is by far the wealthiest owner in the NBA. He's also very impatient and not getting any younger. They will run it back. Blowing it up is not an option.
I guess if Harden didn't say the "system" thing and said that he was there to be a supporting guy, it wouldn't have looked so bad for him. I guess almost every superstar has to go through the process of admitting that he is no longer The System. Guys with huge egos like Melo and Russ took a long time to get humbled. Not sure how Harden will act. But this is his contract year. So he's not gonna admit he's no longer a star. We'll see. Next will be the turns for Lillard, Durant, Curry, LeBron, etc.
thats the thing, harden rarely even speaks to the media or goes on podcasts..he only gives interviews when he is required to do. yea i guess, derozan seems to get a pass every year.. maybe harden should start using excuses to get these haters in the media off of his back.
