Russ was a surprisingly good "break glass" option for them last year and is useful for his pace, but ultimately with Harden is just a better fit with most teams even if he's not perfect due to passing and shooting. Boring-ass Kawhi needs guys who are credible standing around when he does his thing. Harden is a credible stander arounder.
He is okay but he has extreme warts ......I am not seeing it working out, they might win games but there are way better teams out there. Maybe you can win a title with only ISOs and the occasional pick and roll with Zubac.....but I am skeptical. He is no Steph Curry who has that type of Houston game in almost every game.
Interesting #s so far Isolations per game George : 4.1 @ 0.93 points per possession Kawhi : 3.0 @ 1.03 points per possession Harden : 2.7 @ 1.44 points per possession Harden time of possession 24 : 4.9 minutes per game Compared to : 23 : 8.6 minutes 22 : 9.2 minutes 21 : 8.6 minutes 20 : 8.6 minutes
I didn't don't think they're going to "win a title" or even win that many games - I just said Harden is a more functional option than Westbrook at this point in his career considering he's still an elite passer and a decent shooter, whereas Russ isn't really either.
The Clippers are not really giving up on WB I think, those are just speculation.....they are staggering minutes. Russ hustle mentality is really undervalued but yeah....I am not betting on anyone. All 4 of that Big 4 are past their Prime IMHO.....the question is what is left in the tank. The game where Luka, Hardaway Jr. and Kyrie shot circles around them........and it was one of their biggest scoring games.
you obviously care enough to post in a james harden on the clippers thread and post about how paul george should have the ball more. your take is ignorant, and just plain wrong. don't shoot the messenger
PG is one of the biggest chuckers I have ever seen. When he scores like 2 buckets in a row he will take 4 terrible heat checks.
Westbrook has $3.8mil this year, $4mil next year. He's made enough career earnings in that playing time might be most important to him. Harden's final year is $35.6 mil, am curious what Clippers (or whomever his next team will offer him).
clippers will take care of harden because of the draft capital they gave up to get him, especially if he keeps playing and performing at the level he is now
Apparently Westbrook made the suggestion to put him out of the starting line-up himself. That is great character and could actually make it work.
I think basically they stay out of the Top 3 is that Paul George and Kawhi are not their best self no more.....I think they lost some athleticism.
Brody is great, he could be a track and field star......wide receiver etc. Also a serviceable entertainer. Bball is not even his best sport.
Huh? It's been well documented Harden can't stand around and shoot. He got flak for dribbling and then passing to the announcer table when he tried to spot up for 3.
