Trevor Lawrence isn't better than Stroud, even if the NFL wants him to be. He can swish that stringy hair and smile like he's a hero all he wants, but the refs had his back today. CJ's 68 YD air pass to Dell pass was just taken away, and he probably would have had 400 yards if not for the BS takeaways and missed calls. Stroud passed for 2 TDs and ran for 1 with a 116.0 rating. Lawrence had a 90.2 rating today. 2023 Season Stats Stroud 3,266 YDS 19 TD / 5 INT Lawrence 2,746 YDS 12 TD / 7 INT
wow lamar jackson on a madden cover, just like vick was in 2004. Doesnt mean anything, that style has not won in this league and will never win.
Perryman, Noah and Jimmy will be returning... the refs will ease off hating on us since the Jags owner check cleared.
If CJ Stroud was drafted by the Patriots no way the refs could screw over him like this. It's def something to do with Houston. I don't know what it is. I thought it was backlash to the Astros scandals but this was going on before that. Remember Rockets fans kept talking about Scott Foster and his beef with CP3 and nobody cared, Now he's on the Warriors and everybody now acknowledges that Scott Foster def has bias against CP3.
Did my own digging instead of trusting randoms on Twitter. It's true but can't imagine for much longer.
this is a classic way to stop qbs like vick in the playoffs or big games.. do you see a holding call on this play.. I DONT.. doesnt matter its 1st and 20 and the nfl knows vick wont convert that. The NFL can not pull that garbage with CJ Stroud, CJ as i type this today is throwing for an insane amount of air yards and his cpoe over 20 yards is probably the highest on record. Keep in mind CJ is a rookie this is arguably the worst he is gonna look because of his style of play. Typically when a rookie starts off hot.. rg3 they tend to flame out because their style of play is unsustainable.. hits on the qb. But CJ Stroud can play in the league for 20 years if he manages his body correctly. Its good that CJ seems to be respective to vets like Tom Brady
Completely agree. And I suspect the Texans will get better at protecting him as well. The future is insanely bright.
Stroud is the class of this division at the QB position and to me still should be a top MVP candidate. Stroud has covered up so many holes for this team to have them thinking about the playoffs. It's hard to cover up so much week after week (poor play calling and questionable coaching at times, no pass rush, inconsistent secondary, injuries all over the place, etc.) Stroud has had to be elite to keep this team afloat.
It felt like the Texans were just dominated in the trenches today. Jacksonville really should have won this game easily. I thought Stroud did very well considering he was constantly under pressure. Lawrence, on the other hand, was rarely pressured. That Tytus Howard. Contract doesn’t look so good.
Well said, on all points. btw, Mahomes has had to overcome this too, sometimes he reverts to 'playing Madden mode' and runs around in the back field to eat a huge sack rather than just get rid of it and do over on the next down
I'm so glad we have Stroud and not Young or Levis. Those two couldn't even throw a single TD today, and Stroud threw two and ran 1 in. Titans only won because of Derrick Henry. Bryce was 18/31 194 YDS Levis 18/28 185 YDS
There wasn’t…. The play is all over twitter. The only thing people can think of is that Tank was running upfield but that is something he has done all year…
I can't take these one possession games every week. 4 wins by a combined 17 points. 3 losses by a combined 7 points. I don't have the stats ready or off the top of my head. But it really feels like the Texans start off slow offensively in the 1st half and are a much better 2nd half team.
