I thought it would merit an explanation, but I don't want it to be about me, so I went ahead and edited that post out. Wasn't my intent to attention w****, sorry if I offended anyone.

Busing was as ****ty as barber this week, he over pursued the entire game leaving open guys all over the field. He was one of the single biggest problems on the defense imo.

I thought Busing was awful. Barber might have been just as bad in coverage, but I'd like to think that he could tackle better than Busing.

Interesting Question: At what point is coaching responsible for bad play?
    [This works for any sport]

If a guys is CONSTANTLY missing tackles
    either
    1. They, the players, is not that good and overrated
    2. The coaches are EXPECTED to TEACH . . PROFESSIONALS basic tackling?

    Great post.

Thing is, sit Bennet and start who? Reeves was hurt, start McCain or Quinn? The CBs all of them except Dunta are scrubs. Reeves is a backup at best, maybe he helps a bit but I still see guys running all over us and converting 3rd and longs.

Also, Oak isn't a gimme. They beat us last year and Aso forced 'Dre to have a quiet day. They lost next week and it is all done.

I agree that the season isn't over. In the grand scheme of things it's only one division loss. I just think we aren't making the playoffs in the AFC with 9 wins. I think the Texans making the playoffs depends on how many games the Colts win.

Don't really fear Jac, they don't have the opportunity to play one of the worst defenses every week. Tennesse has a hellish schedule still ahead.

Week 5 is going to determine a lot.

Texans SHOULD be 2-2 (Can't lose to the Raiders, they just cant.) and have a big game against the Cards which is winnable. Also that week, Tenn plays Indy. Indy is either going to come out of week 5 tied with the Texans, or have a good lead on the division once again.

He didn't do a quarter of the damage that Bennett did. But true, no one in the secondary should hold their head high - and I think it was Busing that had deep coverage on MoJo's laughingstock run. But to the point - Busing didn't kill us the way Barber did last week (directly responsible for 2 of the 3 CJ TDs) - this week, it was Fred Blowit all the way.

Wilson was awful, trying to play Two Hand Touch all game and getting worked over for it.

Dunta had the strip but overwise got handled and left. One embarrassing non-wrap-up that looked like he soaked himself in oil first.

I'm off the opinion that each missed tackle and each non-tackle (pushing or diving instead of hitting) should be a fine. That or they have to head on tackle Johnson in practice after he gets up to full speed.

Very true - there's no clear replacement for him unless Reeves gets a miraculous heal to happen. This is a stiuation that HAS to be addressed though - three straight games where the secondary was a huge liability.

Get all the phone and see if there are any sellers out there.

    Tackling is a problem.

Maybe these guys are playing touch football in practice? That's the only thing I can think of.

I think we did sign a Veteran CB when Reeves initially got hurt. IDK what happened there. It needs to be addressed but who is there to sign? At this point the Texans should trade some useless guys just for a decent CB.

Okoye, A.Davis (isn't needed, Jacoby has stepped up as 3rd WR. LOADED at WR anyway) and a pick to some desperate team that needs prospects. Our secondary is just laughable. Also every DT we have out plays Okoye nowadays. We don't have time for him to grow up.

The fact their D just isn't very good and I don't think it is just coaching. Their secondary is garbage and their front 4 isn't that good. Their line backers are ok I think.

The defense is flat out losing us games. We can't make stops and giving up HUGE plays on top of that. The offensive pass interference call was bs but you cannot fumble on your own goal line with 2:00 left in the game, period.

BTW, I saw Dunta Robinson at Sawyer Park lastnight around 10:30.

Maybe we should focus our entire NFL Draft and free agency to defense, with the exception of owen daniels. Let david anderson replace walter and kasey studdard replace pitts. This is the only way I can see us improving. All 7 rounds on defense, and let dunta walk and replace him with a draft pick and sign casey hampton to help plug up the middle. Oh and hire Bill Cower. Those are the only ways I can see us improving next year.

Just got back from Reliant. What a heartbreaking loss.

I understand that Brown is our goal line back and it's easy to second guess but I would have preferred Slaton on that last drive.

Slaton finally got it going with a 6.3 ypc avg, yet he touched the ball only 12 times. Brown got 8 touches and produced only 19 yards.

Walter had a great debut but I would like to see more than 4 catches from AJ.

It's easy to throw the defense under the bus but the offense only scored 3 points in the second half. One thing I know for sure is that Frank Bush isn't doing something right. We have more talent that years past on D yet we are last in the NFL..something just doesn't add up.

We need the Colts to lose tonight

Not too sure why the offense stalled out so much during the second half. Jacksonville barely did anything different. As for the defense...we need to scrap everyone except Mario, Cushing, Demeco, Diles, and maybe Smith. Our defense is non existent. The way the Texans are playing, they will only beat other teams if they outscore them. Unless the defense starts doing something different, Texans won't go over .500 I hope I'm wrong :(

The defense was absolutely pathetic, by far the worst in the NFL, it's going to be a tough year for Houstonions, astros suck, texans suck, and the rockets are lottery bound

I'm going to root really hard against the Colts, then. Though if they lose with Peyton having a monster game, then my fantasy team thanks him.

I think the offense started getting a little tight, especially with them having to know that they had to match Jax TD for TD because their defense wasn't going to stop anything.

Sometimes that can get you out of a rhythm. Also, I thought they were focusing too much on trying to hit the HR, rather than take what the defense was giving them (which was any underneath route they wanted).

Jones-Drew is the 2nd best running back in the league. We clearly set our minds on him and we still got beat, our defense needs a FIX.

Rush Defense: 32 out of 32 teams
Total Defense: 31 out of 32 teams
Rush Offense: 28 out of 32 teams

There's absolutely no way we're gonna be a winning team while being at the bottom of these categories. The fact that we have ZERO rushing TDs in 3 games is very very troublesome. The defense is losing us games right now.
