Brooks Reed is playing fine. The defense is playing well. The offense is to blame here. You can't keep going three and out everytime. The defense has to catch a breather. Shcaub is trying to throw the long pass too much. It's not working. There is no excuse for our tight ends to have only one catch so far. That needs to change in the second half.

So, our defense is playing great.... but their defense isn't?

why do kubiak/the texans have the worst timeout management. We never have the timeouts when we need'em.

I don't understand the play calling on offense. We try to throw the ball deep to JJ or KW and end up getting "behind schedule." Need to run, run, run the ball until they prove they can stop it consistently. Chucking it down field hoping KW or JJ can all of a sudden turn into AJ80 is a recipe for disaster.

That strip-sack on Schaub was on yet another long developing, down the field play.

Makes me so frustrated watching them squander all the momentum in the 2nd quarter.

Rackers, smh... what more can you do. It's he muscled up trying to kick that ball knowing it's at the very edge of his comfortable range. Wasted a great pick by Cush and a nice (and conservative) drive by the offense.

yeah, my complaints aren't on the defensive side of the ball save for maybe not getting as much pressure on the qb as we would like... but the offense... kubes needs to do something. the long ball is working, the ground attack is getting stifled at the line... where's casey and dressen? why not throw tate out there and let him power through the line? he's gotten decent positive yardage the few times he's touched it.

let's see something! even w/o AJ we still have plenty of weapons... hell, we put up 41 last week.

it's easy to blame kubiak but the Texans really to to replace their replay personel and whoever is responsible for telling Kubes to throw the flag.

I know Jax has no receivers, but the secondary has played fairly well, and front 7 has kept MJD in check. However, I feel they are playing too conservative. Not getting a ton of pressure and don't seem like they are blitzing all that much.

Finally, OD has a catch which is good, and the short passing game is where Schaub is best. You should take a chance or two deep, but Schaub needs to get the smaller players to maintain the drives and open up the run, even run some of them on 3-step drops like they did in the 1 minute drill at the end of the half. Then they need to get Foster the ball in the passing game on the flats.

Why not line Foster up as a WR and put Tate as RB to mix it up. Or just put Trinton Holliday out wide to go deep since he is a legit speed threat even if cannot catch.

Sidenote: So. Jacoby just needs to be traded or benched. On PR/KR, he just cannot break tackles or he is somewhat afraid of being hit so he dances. As a WR, he cannot run routes and has horrible ball awareness and hands.

I see what you are saying. Both defenses are playing great. I'm just more concerned about the Texans offense. Our offense has much more potential than what its showing. We need to start working the quick slants over the middle. Get Owen Daniels involved. Thats all.

The Texans script all the plays on the first drive of the game. And it seems like we score a TD every first drive we have. Maybe once Kubes has to start improvising with the play calls, the Texans offense stalls...

I did predict the Texans would net their first franchise tie this season in the record thread. Makes sense if it happens against Jax at home.

Agreed. Clearly they got lured into a false sense of security by being able to do whatever they wanted on that first drive... and they have moved the ball decently today (9 or 10 first downs)... but the Jags have come up with some stops or big plays here and there to shut those drives down.

Holliday was released this past week.

In other news, I'm debating taking a nap instead of watching the 2nd half.
