Flying into Houston Thurs night to do early voting on Friday and then back up to work on Sunday... I know my vote won't count towards the electoral college, but I wouldn't forgive myself not voting in this election.
silly question here. I have not voted since my very first time in 2000 to get the toyota center built. I now live in fortbend county I was looking at the early voting pdf and noticed that their is not one in the sugarland/stafford area, the next closes place to vote is in alief. Can you vote in a county you are not registered in?
You do know they ask for your ID and type it in the computer to make sure, you are able to vote right? Why are you republicans trying to make a non issue a issue?
Going to try to early vote on Friday. I work half days on Friday and that afternoon is really the only time I have to stand in line for an hour and a half. I will early vote at either the Fiesta on OST @ South Main or at the Power Center on South Post Oak. HO HO HO!!
There are chronically apathetic friends I have, the laziest slugs known to mankind, that have already voted in this election. I am very anxious to see the final turnout numbers.
So how long are the lines? I wonder if I have enough time to vote after work? If not, I'll vote on saturday, in case, it takes hours like the caucus.
I'm going to early vote tomorrow. Most of my votes will be dem, but I have to say I'm not voting for Jackson Lee again. She needs to go. Any sites that are tracking early voting numbers in our area? I'm curious what the turnout/results are in Houston so far.
There are some nitwhits that I am voting against like former police chief Bradford "K-Mart raid/DNA lab incompetence".
Mailed my ballot in the other day. My wife and I got ours this past Saturday and filled them out over dinner. I like Washington state's mail-in option. The state is going completely mail-in for 2009 (was supposed to be for 2008 but they couldn't get their butts in gear). Oregon does that, and their voting rate is through the roof. It's nice to be able to look up details on propositions. Quite a few state and city positions are also non-party specified. I actually like reading candidate bios to pick the best one compared to checking box because of party affiliation (although the Republicans need to be smacked down). Felt really good to vote for Obama. I've voted in every election since I turned 18, but I don't think I've ever been this excited to vote. The wave is coming, and it's going to be big.
I voted in downtown Houston yesterday around noon. It took about 15 minutes from the end of the line to completion of voting. In case you are wondering I voted for the guy who has changed his position on a number of big issues in order to secure his party's nomination and is probably completely unprepared to lead this country.
I voted early yesterday morning with my gf at the W Gray Multi-Purpose Center. We got there at 7:45 and were out by 8:15.
