To lead this particular group, beyond the X's and O's, McHale was perfect. Perhaps Leslie Alexander meddled too much. I mentioned this early in the season and wanted to forget, but the BBS doesn't let me do it easily. With that said, Bickerstaff has done some good things. Change for the sake of change isn't the right move either, so I hope Bickerstaff gets evaluated fairly.

    Why? Harden got him fired.

I expect Leslie Alexander to consider the following before rashly making his GM fire the coach:
    1) Harden sprained his ankle and wasn't in his best shape
    2) Howard was nursing an injury
    3) Firing McHale would hurt team chemistry (in hind sight probably cost us 5 games and better seeding in the playoffs)
    4) In 1995, we were the 6th seed after sputtering in the regular season.

Yeah, but 4 was different in 95 vs now. I mean that team started out hot out of the gates before faltering and needing to make that trade deadline deal for Glyde, and then finally putting it together when it mattered. He also (as a newer owner then) wasn't going to fire his championship coach. Anyway, as this continues to play out this season... It's really looking like Les and co ****ed up. I mean if he fired Rudy T in 95 after the collapse it would have been a mess like it is now.

Anyway I don't think they considered any of your reasonable considerations because Morey thinks shooting 3s is more important than having a coach. And I don't recall who was available but maybe after that embarrassing Portland series they should have considered firing McHale (you know before they hastily gave him a huge contract mid-season last year).
