I just fear you make that move now… and Diaz will likely never be an everyday MLB catcher with that many questions surrounding how he handles himself to prepare for catching duties. Luckily these sorts of analysis’/decisions making is why no internet warrior will ever be equipped to manage or front office an MLB team.
Just got home from the Juice Box for a little digestion before I go back out. What a ball game! Let's Go Fi-Do! Go 'Stros!
If it means extra Days rest for Josh Hader Why Not. Josh Hader was a Starter in the Astros Minor Leagues. A Dominant One at that.
I had a commitment, just finished watching the game. 1) Brown got extremely unlucky in the 1st inning. Kwan's single had an expected BA of .220 and Naylor's HR had an expected BA of .090 and was a HR in exactly 1 Park. MMP. 2) The team fought back from being down twice. 3) I have said it over and over - unless Framber or JV are starting pull the SP after 5, or when 1 baserunner reaches in 6th or later. Never beyond that. If Hunter does not go out for the 6th we are having a completely different discussion. The bullpen is completely rested and this team can not afford to blow leads. 4) Bregman and Singleton hit big HR and neither were cheap- both of them gone in all 30 parks. 5) Loperfido had a nice AB. That can be built upon - baby steps and keep the pressure off him. 6) Abreu (after F-ing around for 3 hitters), Pressly, and Hader were all much improved. 7) they won a game w/ someone other than Framber, JV, Javier, or Blanco starting. This Is exactly the kind of games they have lost over and over so far. Huge win and I am seeing a run starting. Oh, and the umpiring was terrible !!
If Joey Loperfido performs at Left Field and Bats Well, Protects Yainer Diaz. Chas McCormick, Jake Myers, Mauricio Dubon as Utility CF. Trey Cabbage, Jon Singleton at 1B
