It's been glaringly obvious his entire tenure that Dusty plays favorites. Over the last few weeks Chaz has been an everyday player, but almost all of his extra starts came at the expense of Meyers with Julks playing time being unaffected. He will make sure Dubon and Julks get semi regular AB's, no matter who he has to sit to make sure it happens. FWIW Chaz has started 22 games in a row, he is an everyday player (much to Dusty's chagrin)and one could justify just giving him a day off. However because Dusty insists on his lineup BS so consistently it's easy to get aggravated about choices that could be otherwise justifiable.
I’m not super irritated that Chas is getting a day off, although I worry it might be because he is in trade discussions. I, just every once in a while, I wish Dusty would run out what should be our regular lineup. Altuve Pena Alvarez Bregman Tucker Chas Abreu Diaz Myers
Chas should be well rested from all the days he had to sit last year and the first half of this season. He’s barely broken in.
Tucker has had 2 days off out of 106 games, and Chas only played three straight days before a day off as the Astros had an off day last week. Unless Chas got banged up, this looks like Dusty still is not treating Chas like an everyday player especially considering he lost CF PT to Dubon yesterday.
He also DH’d only in the 17-5 blowout. I know he was injured but he’s only played in 66 out of 106 games. EDIT…maybe Dusty figures he’s a lock for player of the month and doesn’t want to take a chance of ruining his odds of winning. He’s not that crazy or is he?
I give Dana Brown a D- right now as GM. Madris? Graveman? As someone else said suppose Maldy or even Diaz go down with an injury. Who do they call up?
When does Brown come with “Lot of people telling me how to General Manage. I don’t need the help. Other than W-L, we’ve been just as productive as anyone.”
If Maldy goes down we instantly become much better Salazar as Diaz backup would be a HUGE improvement
