Just have Brantley stand in the foul area down the left field foul line between innings. I know that there have been some guys that really thrived only coming out to hit and not take the field.... but it doesn't seem like the Astros have those guys.... someone needs to give Alvarez some meth pills and have him work in the underground batting cage all game until it is his turn to hit. The grass is always greener on the other side I guess.... Alvarez is a God gifted hitter and he cares more about being able to play the field than hit.
Hey.... it was greenies and caffeine for a long time..... then it was various AD/HD "medications" and Red Bull....... now it is sudafed and caffeine pills.... Guys always seem to want something...... and in the big leagues it is so prevalent it isn't even considered cheating. I know on the South Side of Chicago that "Jackie" loves the uppers.
More, more, more. Better, better, better. Harder, harder, harder... Ingrained in the human condition I would say. It wouldn't be so bad except MLB keeps moving the goalposts as to what cheating is in the first place and what is not and who is allowed to and who isn't. A clear, unbiased and enforceable approach would really help all concerned. Even those fighting to keep things in the past.
