Bernie is a liar. Anyone who has stepped foot in a private plant yet wants to chide others and tax others for their view of a world ending problem are just hypocrites. If people feel life will end unless we combat global warming how can they travel the world on polluting airplanes and private jets, have multiple homes and even live with the hypocrisy. Its because its a power play to let the government have more power over yet another sector. If they truly believe it they should be vegans living in the woods like the Unabomber. Lead by example or shut up.

He can't win with extremists , if he lived in the woods his accessibility would be 0, you would call him a dirty hippie communist, etc. The government should have more power to regulate all sectors - free trade has created terrible inequality and wastage of resources. If things aren't sustainable, no matter how nice your house is, your kids and grandkids won't reap the benefits of the rigged system many of us have benefited from. He has to play the game the way the system works to advance his vision, which isn't socialism, but leveling the playing ground with the generational establishment that has created a system in their favor. That's where the conservative outrage over him comes from.
This is eventually what the future of the US will look like - we have expanded to all the places we have expanded, establishing control over the resources we can establish over, and now it is time to work on our backyard for a happier youth.
