DAMMIT. ----------- http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/fb/texansfront/7238136.html Texans' Williams injures groin, questionable for Sunday Texans defensive end Mario Williams suffered a groin injury during Thursday's practice and has been listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the New York Giants. Coach Gary Kubiak said after Friday's practice that Williams' availability will be a game-day decision. Williams was not immediately available for comment. Receiver Jacoby Jones did not attend practice Friday, instead receiving treatement for his calf-muscle injury. Receiver Andre Johnson did work out and although he is also a game-day decision, it appears he will be ready to play.
Damn, injuries have been plaguing the whole AFC South. Thankfully Antonio Smith has been pretty focused lately.
I love how super Mario called his injury a little booboo. Can't wait till saturday. I love this team. Go Texans!!! More of the NFC Least.
The Giants are seriously banged up as well especially the O-Line they could be trotting out their third tier C to start and shift the entire unit around. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/teams/nyg/report The injuries are once again beginning to pile up for the Giants, and in particular, their offensive line is becoming a concern. Both of their centers, Shaun O'Hara and Adam Koets, were unable to practice on Wednesday. O'Hara, who has been dealing with an ankle injury since training camp, had said on Monday that he was optimistic about possibly returning this week after receiving a new diagnosis and treatment. However, he tried to run on Tuesday and coach Tom Coughlin said that the results "were not good." Koets, meanwhile, suffered a sprained MCL in his knee, an injury that first became known on Tuesday when the players reported for treatment. Koets was unable to take his reps on Wednesday, but he said he was optimistic of being able to return to action on Thursday. If however, neither Koets nor O'Hara can go, the Giants would be forced to shuffle their offensive line. For Wednesday's practice, Coughlin confirmed that LG Rich Seubert, who is the third-string center, took the snaps, with LT David Diehl moving over to guard and Shawn Andrews stepping in at left tackle. Coughlin also said that they would look at leaving Diehl at tackle and putting Andrews at guard as another option. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ap-giants-injuries EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP)—With Kenny Phillips(notes) likely a game-time decision for the Giants, rookie Brian Jackson(notes) could see playing time at safety against the Texans just one week after being elevated from the New York’s practice squad. The 6-foot, 198-pound cornerback will also be playing out of his natural position. Phillips didn’t practice Friday after getting limited work the previous two days because of a sprained medial collateral ligament in his left knee. The injury occurred late in Sunday night’s game against the Chicago Bears and the team said it is unrelated to the microfracture surgery that ended Phillips’ 2009 season after just two games. “I guess (a game-time decision) is where it’s heading right now,” said Phillips, who was listed as questionable. “We will see.” Phillips called it a “minor” sprain, and early in the week the Giants had simply said the knee was tired and sore. Though his practice limitations appeared precautionary at first, the situation appears to have worsened. Bulluck, defensive end Mathias Kiwanuka(notes) (neck), T Will Beatty (foot), FB Madison Hedgecock(notes) (hamstring), and C Shaun O’Hara(notes) (Achilles and ankle) have been ruled out for the game. Bradshaw, Thomas, and Phillips are questionable, and DE Osi Umenyiora(notes) (knee) and C Adam Koets(notes) (knee) are probable.
This is what yahoo fantasy has to say about AJ's treatment: The treatment, which Johnson referred to as "blood spinning," involves withdrawing a vial of the player's blood and putting it in a centrifuge, which separates the red and white cells and the platelet-rich plasma, which is thought to have enhanced healing capacity. The plasma is then injected into the damaged area to speed up recovery. Does this really work? Is it serious that they're using such exotic methods?
yeah it does work and it does mean he is hurting pretty bad if they are doing this. he should just sit out another game.
man, you seriously can't help but love this team. our pro-bowl nucleus is just about the most likable group of players i can remember.
