Do you think that Troy Nolan's 2 picks were an anomaly or is he really a big improvement over Eugene Wilson?
I think the gut is a legit ballhawk that has a nose for the ball. I don't know about a huge improvement because Eugene is a solid player, but Nolan certainly brings big play capability.
I don't expect two interceptions (one of which was a bad play) from him, but I do expect he'll be an improvement.
Yeah, no kidding. Buck's call of the playoff game last year between GB/Ariz -- when Arizona won on the defensive TD in OT -- was pathetic. You would've thought game was already in hand and Arizona was capping off a double digit blowout based on his call. Considering Eugene Wilson has dropped multiple picks this year that hit him in the hands, no, it wasn't an anomaly. Not to mention Nolan did the same thing in preseason.
I wouldn't say Vegas likes Houston, the line is a reflection of what the public thinks the outcome will be, not what sharks think it will be. The betting public likes Houston. Check out the Vegas Hilton Supercontest to see what the pros are betting on. The picks for the week are displayed on Fridays.
He's not going to lead the league in INTs, but he's an improvement. Wilson is fairly sharp at free safety, and has a good feel for the game which is essential when you're playing deep. His downside is he's aged in dog years since coming over and now has limited range - he's struggled getting to the ball and struggled even more making plays on the ball. He's also taken big steps back in his ability to bring down players. Nolan will be more prone to mistakes, but he's got a nose for the ball and can make plays on it as well as anyone in the secondary (if not the best at doing so). Barber is just a poor option at the position, period.
When Tim Frikken McCarver has to correct you on a kindergarten-level math issue, you are a dumbass. "When a catcher has to use his thumb to give signs, that means the pitcher has more than four pitches."- Tim McCarver "Or five, more than five."- Joe Buck "...has more than four." - McCarver "Oh yeah, you're right." - Buck
GB/Washington will likely be the game where Buck/Aikman go, if not, then NO/ARZ (champs are playing and they haven't done one Saints game yet) I'll say this week, we'll have the Albert/Johnston/Goose crew (B team)...OR Stockton/Davis (C)...OR Brennaman/Billick (D). One of those 3 I named, with the C team being the likely crew.
The Texans have never been three games above .500 in their franchise history. Texans 28 Giants 14 Buck/Aikman will not call the Texans game. They mentioned in the Skins/Eagles game last week that they will call the Packers/Skins game. I can confirm that Kenny Albert, Daryl Johnston and Tony Siragusa will be the announcers for Fox.
The game maps haven't been coming up until Wednesdays so far this year. You can go to the following link to see listings though. http://www.the506.com/smf/index.php?topic=8317.0
After watching the Bears/Giants game, our very first offensive play should be a halfback screen. Let their D-line come flying in while still on their sack happy high and BAM 68 yard touchdown for Foster
I hate it when people try to use this excuse to discredit INTs like that. How many INTs come from bad plays or tipped balls?
I remember last year Jarius (sp?) Byrd for the Bills got about 90% of his INT's from tipped balls. Most people consider him a good to great cover safety.
