Maybe we suck at home again, but that was a stinker last night. Pitching has been pretty good so far, maybe when we get to Minnesota our bats wake up.........maybe we get some of those torpedo bats We have 3 straight afternoon games, maybe that's where we pick it up.........I need one Yordan bomb today and all will be right with the world
Cam is still learning -- but the ballpark excuse shouldn't apply to Walker, Paredes, or Rodgers (lol). It really shouldn't apply to Diaz either. He wasn't playing pre- batter's eye. If you're choosing the "it's early" route -- well, it's early for the pitching too. I expect the Astros to play better on the road, but they can't perform like dirt at home.
His average exit velocity is 95.5mph and max is 111.5 so far. Abreu’s numbers were 87.8 and 109.7. In one game he hit three balls harder than Abreu did all of last year. There’s no comparison particularly when you include defense.
Cold bats about to head to cold Minnesota. Highs in the 40's every day. Good luck with that. Rodgers, DeZenzo and McCormick batting 7-9. Good luck with that too.
So we put Cam on the roster to play every 2 out of 3 games? What are we even doing here? I bet we are the first team ever to bring up a top prospect and then sit them for 2 out of their first six games. Makes absolutely zero sense. Bregman was trash to start his career but you know what we did? We played him every game. Because that’s what you do with your “future aircraft carrier”. If we wanted to see what we had in Dezenzo, Cam should have been sent to AAA to start the year and let Dezenzo get 200ish ABs up here before then making a decision on how to move forward. Can’t do that with the way we are handling him either. Just stupidity all around.
Good. If we are trying to figure out of he's back to pre-2024 levels, he needs to start more often. So far, he's one of only two Astros with an OPS over .600.
