Atlanta traded Teixeira, but they also traded FOR him from the Rangers - they traded him because he was a free agent and they weren't going to re-sign him. They got Kotchman for him, who is no longer with the team either. They kept their version of Berkman in Chipper Jones.
They traded prospects for Teixera before they traded him away(They gave up a lot more then they got back). They just unloaded Francoeur for a 30 year old Ryan Church. They draft well, and go over slot money to sign. They drafted Tommy Hanson in the 22nd round. Heyward was a 1st round pick signed above slot money.
well, i had to walk barefoot to the 'Dome through sleet and snow just to catch a game. uphill. both ways. back then men were men. we'd play ball with our bare hands. and we rode our bikes barefoot and with no helmets either. back then if you crowd the plate the pitcher put you on your ass, and if you charge the mound the pitcher would beat your ass and put the next hitter on his ass, too.
Personally, I thought we did good not to lose by a bigger margin. Thats not really optimism, but I expected something like a 8-1, instead of 5-2.
