Remember, no PBP in these threads and keep the chatter on topic (if it is about something other than this series, talk about it in another thread). 8-11 Jonathan Sanchez, LHP (8-8, 4.64) vs. Brandon Backe, RHP (6-11, 5.35) 7:05 on FSN 8-12 Tim Lincecum, RHP (12-3, 2.68) vs. Roy Oswalt, RHP (9-8, 4.56) 7:05 on FSN 8-13 Barry Zito, LHP (6-14, 5.55) vs. Randy Wolf, LHP (7-10, 4.67) 7:05 on FSN 8-14 Kevin Correia, RHP (2-6, 5.21) vs. Brian Moehler, RHP (8-4, 3.83) 1:05 on FSN
On another note, as of end-of-play yesterday, the Astros have spent: --32 games over .500 -- 4 games at .500 --81 games under .500 ...if they can win tonight and play .500 ball the rest of the way (yeah, right), they will have only spent half the season as a losing team. Hey, you gotta get your moral victories wherever you can find them when you suck. On that note, the Astros are playing .640 ball (16-9) since the start of the Nationals series (just after that AFU sweep at the hands of the Pirates).
For one American dollar, yes $1, you can go to Minute Maid Park and watch Tim Lincecum and Roy Oswalt in a pitching matchup. Incredible. Every living, breathing baseball fan in Houston should be there tomorrow night.
BREAKING NEWS: Astros Sign Barry Bonds, will start his first game against the Giants Wednesday night! That would be SICK, make it happen Drayton!
Lincecum is absolutely amazing. Looks he's got a good enough head on his shoulders to have a long playing career. Filthy stuff.
Cy-Backe tonight . Man, how much of a disappointment are Berkman and Tejada at the plate right now? Jesus Christ. Everytime they go up it's SO SO SO, GO GO GO, PO, PO, PO. HIT THE ****ING BALL HARD. I refuse to believe that crap that Berkman's swing was affected by the HR derby. That's a weak excuse. You're a professional hitter. While Berkman's still producing RBI's, he's going into a nice little second half nosedive with batting averages of .266 for july and a whopping .229 for August. Tejada? I'm disappointed in him night after night. What in the world happened to his ability to knock in runs? 37 RBI the first two months of the season. The last two plus months? 15 RBI.
