hey, this franchise was robbed of so many HR's in the Astrodome, the Crawford Boxes are just like karma.

oh...and it turns out the Crawford Boxes have the exact same dimensions when the Giants come to bat as when the Astros come to bat. weird. :D

They wouldn't be outs at Fenway... but since that place has been around 100 years, and the dimensions were forced because of the streets, it gets a pass.

Hell... the dimensions of MMP are forced because of Union Station (which makes the ballpark just a little bit more special).

Yeah, sounds about right for a guy that was in management. :)

Sampson's wife gave birth to their first child Monday. Everything apparently went fine & they've readjusted the rotation. Sampson goes tonight.

This is yet another example why it's good to actually know what's going on before b****ing & dropping "r****ded" gloss, etc.

On the "home-town discount" front, here is a gem from the Jints front office:

Freaking awesome. I *loved* having Jeff Kent here!

His place in Wharton was well covered, but I hadn't thought about the flight home angle. Continental has a hub in Panama City, so lots of direct flights. Yay Houston.

MMP giveth, and MMP taketh away.

Also, there's quite a few ballparks where Winn's & Durham's HRs would have been doubles off the wall.

no one was b****ing. there was no information available and my call was that he's r****ded IF he skips him for no reason. after looking at astros.com my very next post was that they aren't skipping sampson afterall.

there's too much sensitivity about the astros and lets be honest, garner manages on hunches a good amount of time, he's made zanier desicions in the past than what that potentially would have been.

    alls good now anyway.

That was more of a general point than anything directed at you.

    Interesting stuff:

The Astros bullpen owns a 2.81 ERA & .211 BAA in the last 21 games (60.2IP).

The pen leads MLB in stranding inherited runners: 6 of 46 scored, 13%.

The Astros are 17-5 when scoring at least 4 runs.

The Astros are 10-5 with PENCE!!! starting in CF.

And 1-0 when cf.net posters write the post-game report for astros.com.

First, Lee's and Williams' drives that landed in the Crawford Boxes were hit with a line-drive trajectory that more than likely would have been off the wall in some other stadiums, maybe even wall-scraper homeruns in parks with lower fences. I don't know of too many outfielders that could have gotten back and caught those balls.

Second, could of, should of, and would of make no grammatical sense. Try the word have.
