    What's Albers ERA these days?

As Major said, Woody is pitching exactly as expected... more often than not, giving his team a chance to win the game (just as he did tonight).

Remind me, what were you saying of Pence and his stats right after Burke was sent down?

PS - 4 runs in 7 innings is not considered a quality start.

He was actually hitting lower than Burke after the game that night.....not anymore......

I don't mind Pence staying up, I just thought Burke got kind of screwed....

Personally, I think they should have sent down Albers as he had started the night before.

I thought you said Albers should have been starting every game over Woody for the season.... now he should be sent down???

I would have sent him down and brought him back up later.......as he had pitched the night before....no need for 12 pitchers on the roster...IMO.

Biggio and a slider low and outside. Inevitable.

I think hunter pence is doing pretty ok. In fact I think he will end up being their best player some day.

    Sigh.

1.) You missed the point. Using stats at this early junction of the season is silly.

2.) We already went through this. "After the game" was irrelevant to the decision that had to be made before the game -- in which case, Pence was hitting better than Burke (and providing a significantly better slugging percentage, which is important as Ensberg continues his impersonation of statue.) I imagine if we look at the numbers after tonight, Pence v. Burke won't even be close -- it's silly to use that small sample size.

3.) Players sent down must stay down for 10 days. Sending down a starter doesn't make sense unless you're skipping his turn twice.

Just so I know, how much of the season has to go by before we really look at this years stats? 25%? 33%? 50%? Just curious.

FYI, we're 23% though the season.
