as a street law says..... there's always a bigger guy. Giannis/Dwight are power players who can be slowed down by proper defense and officiating

footwork is the key and he doesn't have a knack for it. Like t-mac once said, it makes him laugh all those dudes training with Hakeem on footwork.. you can train all you want you aint getting it, either you born with it or not. Same with shooting form. No matter how much Giannis trains his long arms and big hands with hard touch just aren't fixable, same reason why Simmons/Westbrook won't ever be a decent three point shooter. They can put as much work as Curry but he always will be far far superior due to just to his physique

The fact that Giannis is going to have 2 MVPs and Harden has 1 shows you the legitimacy of the award.

Lebron should have like 10 MVPs if were keeping it 100.

The same could have been said for Jordan through the 90's. Because the league is a business it has to keep diversifying or else it will go stale. They know if they gave the award to the same guy every year the fan base would lose interest so the more people talk about who the MVP will be the better it is for league attention.

There are some that want to point fingers at the coach, the organization and the players for the Bucks' collective backs being against the wall (see: The Ringer) with Giannis being the victim here. To an extent, I agree:

-Budenholzer is not a playoff coach in that he makes little to no adjustments. Why in the hell do you not let your DPOY lock down Butler? Why are you still playing Lopez? It happened in Atlanta and it's happening in Milwaukee.

-Their front office definitely screwed up by not keeping Brogdon as he was one of a couple of players on the team last year that can create his own shot.

However, the media was too eager in trying to find an heir apparent or a new face for the league in a 25 year old kid with limited game.

This hyper athletic phase of GA's career isn't going to last long before he starts getting nicked up (back/knees) and he starts losing explosiveness and I don't see what he falls back on to continue playing at a high level. Hyper athletic Dwight Howard seems like a lifetime ago as does his place as a top player in the NBA.

to the extent that neither had won rings, nor Conf championships,
if Giannis is the Greek trash, then the Beard is Compton trash.

the difference while Giannis has yet entered his prime years (age 25) , the Beard is nearing the end of his, as he approaches age 30.
also, while the Beard has been teamed w 2 certain Hall of Famers, Russ and CP3,
the best support for Giannis has been K Middleton, the caliber of a 2nd or 3rd best baller on a team.

b4 they won their first ring both MJ and LBJ were derided as chokers. under-achievers.
they both finally won their first ring, by age 26/27, when they're teamed w another hall of famer baller, as well as a hall of famer coach,
