Wow, this is the ultimate proof the NBA is as rigged as can be and can lie without suffering consequences in this life. Don't worry though, God punishes those who lie, because 'You shall not bear false witness against your neighbour.'

People who say you shouldn't watch it and boycott the NBA have a legimite argument but consider that the Rockets are victims of it. Therefore, if they win it's even more special since they are
    - denied honest officiating
    - denied equal rights with regards to Yao
    - have not had help from anybody in the NBA and
    - prove they can beat the crooked by taking it upon themselves to prevent the concocted plot of Stern and his minions.

this may have already been posted, but the writer from the LA times in an article about in his opinion, the suspension and technical ruling is insane, says:

"Derek Fisher, tried to run through Luis Scola's screen at an improper speed"

That's crazy!!!! That's like me trying to say that ron artest didn't approach Kobe, he was just going over to guard him.

Honestly, I watch a bunch of action movies and shows and I've never seen a more deliberate elbow except for ones in video games where they are surrounded by energy and cause big explosions after collisions. I mean even the picture on the LA Times website clearly shows dude seconds after the collision coming down after obviously elevating himself so his elbow was damn near the taller Luis Scola's throat.

What's even more disturbing is the lack of remorse, nonchalant way fisher brushes off that dirty deed. It makes you wanna throw a left hook to his jaw as he is touching his ear.

Even Kobe thinks they're displaying toughness by playing dirty. He knew exactly where Ron Artest was when he threw that elbow. If a guy is sticking close to you , its impossible for you to throw a blind elbow. You feel the guy's presence coz he is so close to you and still you throw the elbow. Utterly despicable.

Ron did not elbow Kobe at all. Putting an arm on someone and the elbow touching them isn't the same as elbowing. Elbowing is taking a swing at the person with your elbow intending for the elbow to strike them. That is what Kobe did. It is not what Ron did.

from the espn article about this: On the Fisher foul, the replays appeared to show clear premeditation -- which usually is enough for the league to tack on an accompanying one-game suspension. In this particular case, the league took the unusual step of interviewing both players before making a ruling.

"Typically we don't, but the focus here was really to try and determine what relationship was between the two players during the game, and what precipitated the incident," Jackson said.

if this isnt a blatant show of laker preference i dont know what is? why do you have to interview both players? you saw what happened!! the only thing i could come up with is that stu was just looking for a reason to suspend scola too, or for a reason to forgive fisher for a blatant flagrant foul. the fix is in!!

Good point. Don't know about a "fix," because the Rockets can win regardless if they play their best, but the lack of a suspension on Bryant pisses me off even more. The NBA rules clearly state that a flagrant foul above the shoulders in an automatic suspension. Yet Bryant didn't get one. Maybe the series isn't "fixed," but Stern, who makes these decisions, clearly wants Bryant to play. Heck, he clearly wants the Fakers to win. Maybe "fix" isn't too strong a word after all.
