As I said, we make it this far I'm off. You guys enjoy the thread though, I'm not going to be calling for his firing until the 2017-18 season. Hopefully by then he'll have a trophy or two to his name as a coach.

I am so happy for Kevin. Seeing him walking off the floor celebrating was awesome. He coached his ass off this series (this game in particular, he responded to the hacking PERFECTLY). Hats off to a good coach.

There can be no denying that Mchale has gotten better as a coach.

I've been very critical of him, but I'm happy to eat crow after he outcoached Rivers.

    Go Rockets!

I don't think this thread has anything to do with the McHale detractors actually hammering his skills leading the team anymore. It has to do with pure hatred multiplied by their long hard efforts to prove to everyone they were right. When he does something decent they often feel the need to double down.

Still think he got bailed out by Josh Smith, a guy who can't make free throws, hitting four crucial 3s to come back in game 6.

But he got them to fight till the end which is all that matters. And I thought defensively the Rockets played great the last 3 games.

Congrats to Coah McHale on leading a team without it's starting point guard and power forward to the Western conference finals.

Nearly flawless game management today. Every time the Clippers tried to make a big run, he made all the right personnel adjustments and kept the team focused.

He did a masterful job of integrating all the new pieces this year, from Brewer and Smith to Prigioni and even Capela. In this series, the Rockets believed in themselves, and Kevin McHale played a huge role in making that happen. He has now out-coached two of the most respected coaches in the NBA this postseason.

We are going to the Western Conference Finals for the first time in 18 years and Kevin McHale is our coach.

After Games 3 and 4 I was pretty down on Mchale but now after 3 amazing wins. HE deserves a sht load of credit. Mchale out coached Rivers in the last 3 games. All season his team had to deal with adversity and he had them prepared and ready to go. I personally shouldn't have doubt him one bit.

    Great job Mchal

Who was it who inserted Smith into the starting lineup before Game 5 despite him playing like dogsh-t through the first 4 games? Who subbed him in with 8 minutes to go in Game 6 for T-Jones who'd been playing well? Who stuck with Smith and Brewer(who'd also struggled in the first 4 games) and never brought Harden back in?

McHale made adjustments in this series and almost all of them worked. If we're gonna rag on the guy for making bad moves(or no move at all), we have to give him credit when they go right and did they ever these last 3 games.

I think this thread can be officially retired. McHale ain't going anywhere nor should he. I thought he'd improved a lot during the regular season as a coach compared to previous years and it's clear he's done the same in the postseason.
