Keep it simpler... Rockets lose in first round of playoffs, i leave. Rockets win first round of playoffs, you leave. For a certain amount of time period, not permanently. And fwiw I'm a morey apologist, not a McHale apologist.
Exactly. He must think we are stupid or something. He is just like all of the other Morey/McHale detractors (and to be honest this is actually Morey's team). They offer no analysis. No facts. No reasoning. Just their poisonous personal opinions powered by what agenda I don't know. They have no conviction. Only copious amounts of hot air and vitriol.
Just Put 50$ Up. Rockets lose in the First, You get 50 + whatever the spilt is between who bet Rockets Advance to the 2nd, Same, Get your 50 back plus whatever is split between who bet
I would doubt anyone trustworthy would hold the money. I doubt Clutch or Bima would do it because that action might be very well against the law in Texas. Vegas casinos would do it, extracting a %. Plus $50 is not enough money for me to even get interested in. I might do low four figures myself, if they can raise the money.
Look i respect cheke for his opinions and contributions to this site, but it's obvious that he is just over emotional and upset at an ugly game and ugly loss. I get it, because I've been rude all night to my friends and family. But no betting is taking place here tonight. And that's probably a good thing, because cheke is a quality poster I'd rather not see leave, nor(God forbid) do i wanna leave.
lol I agree the bet won't happen. But cheke and a few other posters have been ****ting all over Morey every opportunity they get. Even though a large majority of this forum realizes he's one of the best GM's there is. He finally has an opportunity to put his money where his mouth is and what do you know, it all just ends up being hot steam as usual.
12 consecutive quarters of horrendous shooting/offensive game planning. I understand slumps & 82 game season, but the frustration comes from more than tonight's beat down.
The problem is obviously that Cheke cannot begin to afford any wager I would view as interesting. That is completely good. 30 years ago I could not afford that kind of money. Hopefully he will blow off a lot of hot steam and be reasonable tomorrow. Christ, the Cavs, with Lebron, lost to Denver (Denver!) at home tonight. Nothing is a sure thing in the NBA.
JTr should pay my college tuition. Since you betting 4 figure numbers, you should put to "better use"
LOL. Given that I am currently paying the college tuition of my GF and my daughter I don't think so. But if I make a huge stock market score or win the lottery (God said, meet me half way and buy a ticket, which I never do) sure.
The thing is that for two years we've had the highest powered offense in the league. Im not about to get riled up after 12 quarters.
This is on the players as much as it is on coach, Harden and Howard are just not showing good leadership the last 3 games. Sure Harden won us two with amazing play, but other than that, we've played like crap and too much 1-on-1. I've yet to see Harden want to pass ball around early in the shot clock and move off- the ball for a shot coming off a screen. I've yet to see Howard pass it out and re-post and otherwise kick it out to a 3pt shooter.
Ah, yes. Now it's coming back to me. Jtr, McHale's second biggest supporter / apologist (after Morey). Did we ever establish you as the one leaving anonymous nasty messages as rep? Apologies if it wasn't you, but the tone and words were much like yours. Yes, Morey appoints the assistant coaches. You want to place more blame on Morey than McHale? The head coach is basically a glorified cheerleader. You can hear it during the games: "Come on guys!" Clap clap clap. "Let's go!" As if he was handed a high school JV team. But ask him to actually design a play and he'd be like Dennis Hopper's character when first given a chance in Hoosiers. Deer-in-the-headlights. Your loyalty would be touching if you would just reveal yourself as a McHale cousin or high school buddy. Otherwise? Unfathomable.
I'm pretty sure this is my first time posting in the Fire McHale thread but it's time - he's got to go. Even at 9-2, this team is underachieving. The no PF lineup they threw out there with James Harden guarding Zach Randolph was a disaster but what bothered me more than anything was that even though we had to concede to a Randolph ISO(James actually played really good defense on him), there was no attempt to exploit the matchup offensively except for one Ariza play that netted us a bucket in the paint. We just played to their strength and tried to play slug it out low post basketball when they had 2 bigs on the court(Gasol & Randolph). I don't get why the Rockets answer to poor shooting was to get Dwight some post touches over and over again. It just made us even more stagnant because it was a bunch of guys standing around waiting for the double team that sometime never came. The defense was just awful too. One of the reasons Memphis got hot was because they had a ton of open 3s early in the game - the rotations were just awful and the Rockets players didn't seem like they could agree what the rotation was suppose to be...just a complete disconnect. This is probably where Morey fails us a bit - as good as he is at managing the player management within the CBA, he's looking at the stats to suggest McHale is doing a good job where as a traditional basketball guy could see that it's a mess out there.
