Most fans just see wins, losses and individual stats are everything. They are NOT.

The problem is the lack of system. The team does has talented players and many have great potential, but they will never flourish without a comparable system.

Can this current roaster win championship? Right now, it is a NO. In a few more year when the players are in their prime, then maybe.

I have been saying this repeatedly, any team can win game, but you need elite players and elite coach to win championship. The elite players are yet to see, but McHale definitely not an elite coach.

Absolutely correct. But this isn't only on the coaching staff. Lin singlehandedly cost us the first game of the playoffs. Harden's refusal to play D cost us critical games down the stretch. I won't mention Delfino's sausage swallowing event. And no way that many balls bounce off Asik's hands by accident.

When this investigation is brought, it should be a RICCO investigation.

So you think coaches cant improve? why in the world a coach couldnt improve to the point he become an elite coach? in my opinion if given several years to work within the same organization the coaching improves significantly...

    Let's get Phil Jackson.

Morey looks smart for seeing that while McHale might have been ok for the first rebuild year, he is not the coach to take the rockets to the second round of the playoffs or beyond.

Les takes some of the extra money from all the new Asian ads and pays out McHale's contract. It's not a big deal.

Even though they are young, the Rockets don't have forever. They need a leader now who can take them to a championship.

Coach is different that players. Coach is like manager and players are like employees. Employees can be taught and with enough practices, they can excel at what they do. However, you cannot turn a bad manager into a good manager. What is the different between a good manager and a bad manager is a good manager will make his employees feel safe. Allow his employees to do his jobs and does not do micro management. Pride and backup his employees and many others.

yes bad manager can become good manager.. it happens often throughout the world...managers learn through mistakes just like players....besides Mchale is a perfect fit for a good manager as per your description of a good manager:grin:

Geeze... come on now..... It's not a black and white issue..... Just admit it that you hate McHale. I have never said coaching isn't important just you overvalue it... In the perfect world you want the best coaching staff and talent, but the world isn't perfect.

Lakers are a chemistry/right coach issue. Portland is similar to us... not enough talent or experience.

With an elite coach, we would have had a MUCH better play set up to end the game. Instead we waste 10 seconds passing it around, till Beverly gets it.

Mchale did very well tonight. Good starting lineup and good 2-3 zone adjustment. Hard to really criticize him tonight

I absolutely have no faith in the Rockets as long as Mchale is the coach.

Um no. they were supposed to run a play but instead, Delfino holds it at the top of the key and is indecisive on what to do. This is what happens when you have a young team - coaches can draw up the perfect play but if the players don't execute it right, then all is moot.

McHale showed some real competence tonight, let's see his adjustments in the remaining games of the series.

Mchale isnt going anywhere not to mention that he took the youngest team in the playoffs, i know the beard was really the reason, but still one of the most solid coaches in the NBA. Things i dont like about him is small ball, and poor roatations. Thomas Robinson is rebounds, athleticism, as well as points, not to mention that using another big man in the rotations would help other than them sitting on the bench the whole game.

Its not that Harden refused to play D, but he has to conserve most energy, considering that he has to many things other than scoring for this offense. And he usually does play pretty solid D.

Well if you've been watching our young power forwards all year, you would know they look clueless on offense and defense. Greg Smith was just the power forward who looked the least lost.

Which is either an indictment on McHale and the coaching staff or the front office, I am more likely to believe the former myself.

Good game, in the sense you actually saw some coaching and plays being run aside from the normal random hand the ball to Harden and watch or go nuts type of game plan we usually see. Frankly, if we get swept or can't at least get to a close 5-6 game series, I'd still prefer to see McHale fired. But it is a start late as it is.

Good game last night. If McHale can stick to this style of team ball and less iso ball, then Rockets have hope next year if he still the coach

Perhaps the thrashing the players took in game 1 had something to do with it, finally realizing iso ball is not going to cut it in this kinda situation.
