This is a ridiculous thread only 4 games into the season. I might agree with this at some point but not yet, give the guy a chance.
Fire McHale??? Can someone name a Houston Rockets coach who was fired in the mid-season? Can someone name a Houston Rockets coach who had an early contract termination?
I certainly hope so! I blamed McHale for our losing streak to end last season because of his rotations and bad coaching. I see that he has learned nothing from last season, hasn't adjusted to the team's new direction and doesn't seem to know how to develop players to their full potential. Even though this team isn't build to contend right now, I see us growing way too slow with McHale as our coach. I say we fire McFail now, and look first at Jerry Sloan, a coach that can develop and handle young players. And secondly D'Antoni because of his offensive prowess...although I hate his defensive liability as a coach. If we hired him, he would need to agree to have another coach handle his defense for me to be happy.
Also McHale just threw all the players under the bus on national tv saying that they couldn't learn any plays at all doing preseason and therefore they had to institue plays from OKC once we acqured Harden. Sounds more to me like his offense sucks and plays from OKC were better suited for Harden and the team just liked them better. I can the players learn plays from OKC in two days, but couldn't learn McHale's during the whole training camp and preseason? Does McFail think he is a genius and his plays are so complicated that the players are too dumb for him? This guy has no clue as a coach. I don't think it will be long for the players to mutiny under his coaching style. They looked extremely unhappy to me last game when going to the huddle, and it wasn't when we were losing. If we win tonight, or even if our record gets better, I think it will be because of the players, not because of the coaching.
Please. This ignorant, trash coach making his team a 'live and die by the 3' team even though we're shooting 28th in the league for 3's. 28th in the league in making 3's, yet we're shooting the 2nd MOST This is unacceptable and obvious to anyone that it's not working, and he still wants to keep this strategy. I don't get how this guy is allowed to coach and not fired asap. Fire him, pick up Mike Brown, about 100x better than this incompetent, undeserving trash of a Coach.
Bingo!! But it's just a bunch of ridiculous one-on-one basketball. No passing lanes, no motion, no off of the ball screens to try to put players and in a potentially easier position to score; and I though Morey was smart, he can get a better coach than this
Exactly, that seems to be Houston's sports franchises problem in general. They are too loyal to their players (David Carr with the Texans) and coaches, even when they are performing poorly, and it takes forever to get rid of them.
That would be a dream come true. Also, this guy IMO has a great offensive mind based off of seeing his teams at OU.
