You can get me too cause so far Mobley looks great. I was totally wrong.

Then again, this team is no where near contending so I guess just keep letting the chips fall. I have no faith in Silas.

Great question, I bet he would have pushed for Mobley, not sure on Barnes

I think he would have drafted Mobley. Not saying Stone made the wrong choice with Green but Morey has always been infatuated with bigs. The failed Gasol/Nene trade, failed pursuit of Chris Bosh, Melo as a stretch 4 / keys to a championship formula, Dwight Howard, etc.

GMs get fired for choosing the wrong guy.

Early returns are that Stone missed on Mobley but hit on Segun, the other three the jury is out on.

Green looks like he will be ok in a few years with work as does Christopher, not sure about Garuba..

Logging in for the first time in months to say I TOLD YOU SO to all of the Jalen Green nuthuggers.
We drafted a 2nd/3rd tier scoring guard over Tim Duncan. Thanks Fertitta and Rockets fans.

I can't believe how good he looks right out of the gate. He's a Defensive Player of the Year candidate eventually and a unicorn in his ability to stretch the floor and defend any spot on the floor.

I'm going to take a wild guess 10 games into the season and say (if he stays healthy) will be a HOF player

He's instantly turned a bottom 5 team into what looks like a very competitive team. He contests the 2nd most shots in the league, but he doesn't foul. He's leading his team in scoring (total points), but he doesn't turn it over.

    Special player.

It's really the best thing about picking second instead of first. I wanted Mobley but I understood picking Green based on explosive athleticism and size. It's always a gamble but that's what makes the draft so much of a crap shoot.

We're lucky we drafted in the top 3 at all. We'd be talking about how OKC has Mobley right now.

Mobley was my favorite draft prospect and he has certainly shown more potential to be great than any other rookie thus far. However, I've also stated that prognosticating the future development of 19-21 year olds, is a giant game of chance/luck, except in rare cases like Lebron, AD, KD, Zion etc.

So while Mobley/Barnes have been very good early and Cade/Green has struggled somewhat, remember that some of the best players today were terrible during their rookie and sophomore years. Here's just a few:

    Domantas Sabonis - 1st year (20) 5.9 ppg 39% fg
    Pascal Siakam - 1st and 2nd year (22, 23) 4.2 ppg & 7.3 ppg 50% fg
    Julius Randle - 1st year (injured) 2nd year (21) 11ppg 10 reb 42% fg
    Giannis - 1st year (19) 6.8 ppg 4.4 reb 41% fg
    Harden - 1st year (20) 9.9 ppg 40% fg 37% 3PT 2nd Year (21) 12.2 ppg 43% fg 35% 3PT
Kyle Lowry - didn't avg double digits points or more than 4.5 assist until his 8th year.

All the advanced stats have him as a mid-tier all star at age 20, right now.

    Next KG.

He should be a Rocket - it is killing me inside...to know we sweated over that pick, and then it fell our way, and he was THERE to be taken - a guy with a unique skillset and athleticism for a big, and we passed.

Carroll Dawson would not have passed.

    :)

I think he’d go for Mobley, as a higher valued asset.

I don't think Moray would have gone against his analytics team like Stone did.
Plus although he couldn't get his standard "undersized" pf (in height at least) he would've been getting one undersized in the other 2 dimensions (width, depth/thickness). :)

Although I guess it's possible he could've gone "star hunting" like he did when he passed on Kawhi (oh the irony).
Just like then we had no star player on the team.
I wonder how our analytics team had Kawhi rated/projected against Morris brother #1 back then?

Wrong, so unfair to criticize Rockets for picking Green. No one, NO ONE, even the people who might've wanted him go #1, thought he'd be this good. Besides, what evidence do you have that Carroll Dawson wouldn't have passed on him? Ridiculous take, so typical and predictable, I told you type of take

Is he hurt? Where's he been down the stretch tonight?
